I stand with them. @altnps.bsky.social #art

My family and friends are government employees (or paid by govt grants). Musk and his puppet president are dismantling all their good work. #art

Excellent post

This is written by the bishop who stood up to Orange Voldemort. Everyone should be buying this. It's available on Amazon for $14. I'm an atheist and I'm buying it. #booksky

As an Alaskan, Denali today and forever. #art #astronomy #denali

I love this poster, damn shame it isn't more widely posted

I was a political cartoonist for 12 years.

It’s one of the freaky happenings of my life that I have an art piece (actually 3) on Mars. I was part of a small group that turned the Mars rovers’ camera calibration targets into sundials used for outreach. You can see them in the Spirit, Opportunity, and Curiosity panos.

I continue to be deeply moved by this statement to the heavens by President Carter.

I've been watching the livestream from the USGS and it is wonderful. www.youtube.com/live/w0KulR_...

In 1979, Jimmy Carter had solar panels installed at the White House. Ronald Reagan had them removed. We may be able to trace back the current "Do Harmful Things if it Trolls the Libs" Republicanism to Reagan removing those panels the far more forward thinking Carter had installed.

I’m a speaker for the 2025 Night Photography Photo Summit in January. I’ll be talking about the astrophysics for your astrophotography. 2025.nightphotosummit.com

I now get how folks freaked out over Orson Welles’ 1938 War of the Worlds hoax. At this point any actual drones are just copycats piling on for the LOLs.

Living in Central NY, this is the kind of scenery that happens to be along my drive when making a run to the local farm store for dinner. #art #taughannockfalls

After getting tenure I visited Yosemite and went to an evening ranger talk on Astro. That night I saw how excited the public were about stars and space and how much they could see from the dark skies of the park. I changed my sabbatical and future research plans (and my life) that night.

Exactly 12 years ago I took this photo in Yosemite. The bright “star” is Jupiter next to the red giant star Aldebaran. It’s almost exactly one Jupiter orbit later so look up tonight and see the two near one another once more.

I’m leading an expedition to see the 2026 total solar eclipse in Greenland for Betchart Expeditions. There are only a couple spots left onboard our ship, Oceanwide Expeditions’ MV Hondius. www.betchartexpeditions.com/pdf_files/17...

Once a week I package posters people purchase through my website. In their orders I imagine family vacations, bucket-list trips, and awe-inspiring events they are excited to share or commemorate. I love it. www.tylernordgren.com #art

Since 2020 I’ve been working with my local NYS parks to promote the legacy of the CCC. #art www.tylernordgren.com/new-york-parks
