The N Word (Nuclear!).

TV and MLM combined to send the capitalist propaganda machine into overdrive, and there are so many people now, generations of families, who cannot *hear* the premise that either capitalism or the United States can ever be bad. Capitalism destroyed their town and livelihood but it's liberals' fault.

Has “socialism” ever actually ruined a major US city or are people just that bought in to capitalist propaganda.

the future of the democratic party is this old guy who sucks

Regardless of the outcome of primary, I think it’s a really bad sign for the Democratic Party that Cuomo is even remotely competitive in this race.

Part of the appeal of conservatism is that it’s simple and not intellectually rigorous. That’s why you hear conservatives appeal to “common sense” so often. But the world isn’t a simple place. It’s very complex. And when faced with the complexity of life, conservatives fall back on bigotry and hate.

Repealing the 15th Amendment was a demand of the worst racist demagogues of the early Jim Crow era, like "Pitchfork" Ben Tillman of SC and James K. Vardaman, the "White Chief" of Mississippi. Roger Taney & the KKK are not this guy's only political and intellectual forebears, is what I'm saying.

The BBC is fine with some 'politics'.

What gets me is this is a quote. She's quoting Malcolm Mistry, who said "pregnant people", so it's not her job to "correct" him when she's supposedly reporting the exact words he said.

She's literally misquoting the source of the quotation, Malcolm Mistry, with this 'correction'. Her job as a news anchor is, in part, to accurately read out quotations. Anyway, I thought impartiality was the utmost quality for BBC presenters to uphold. Does that only apply if you call out genocide?

The phrase "pregnant person" also acknowledges that women are people and that, unfortunately, even a child can get pregnant (the youngest spontaneous pregnancy ever was in a 5 year old, not a woman), so there are feminist reasons to use the phrase even if you're an arsehole who hates trans people

personally I think it's far more objectionable to refer to a pregnant 13-year-old as a 'woman' than to refer to a cis woman as a 'person', but what do I know

a 800-day weekend could fix me

Incredible content.

Last check a few hours ago, support stopped again - but let's change that! Chip in your boldest five to keep six families alive with food, water, and more: chuffed.org/project/hope... Print a premade flyer to spread the word offline that we can help them live: tinyurl.com/HGC-Shareables

Last check, support had stopped for the third time in a week and a half. When support stops even for a day, there isn’t enough to send to the families. If there isn't enough to send, they can't eat. Anything helps: chuffed.org/project/hope...

Iran calling for emergency UNSC session. Usually that's the precursor to responding to acts of war, because Iran, unlike the United States, has been in full compliance with international law when it comes to war and its nuclear program.

Give for 14x impact !! An anonymous donor has pledged to match the next 300 for the giving circle 🌹 Give to support 6 families & a displacement camp in Gz with survival needs, and know your contribution will be doubled for even more impact. chuffed.org/project/hope...

Every 2 hours I share our giving circle 👋🏾 Mai is so malnourished that she often can't even text—when she even has internet connection. But you've helped her before. Let's do it again 🌹 Give / find her individual link here. 663/1700 and a donor will match 300: chuffed.org/project/hope...

Hi, we started this giving circle in the spirit of collective energy to keep Palestinians alive. Because, yes, even $1 helps feed 6 families + a displacement camp. Pretty simple, right? AND someone is matching the next 300. Anything is bold, and helps. chuffed.org/project/hope...

Give five to sustain Palestinian life: Five dollars helps six families + a displacement camp eat—and will be doubled up to 300 by a donor: chuffed.org/project/hope... Five minutes ensures we reach people who can give, even if we can't. Flyers + more: tinyurl.com/HGC-Shareables

£23 per day. That’s all this survival fund has gotten in the 6 weeks since it started. You helped Ahmad’s son get brain surgery last year. We MUST continue to stand with this family fractured between Gz & Egypt. They ONLY have us. 80/500. Can we do it this week? chuffed.org/project/help...

Today marks the anniversary of Olmstead v. L.C. The Supreme Court ruled: People with disabilities have the right to live in the community — not institutions. That right still needs defending. We won’t stop fighting for it.

My reflections on me and @newdisabledsouth.org being named to the Forbes Accessibility 100 list. This took me a few days to write, and even though it may come with consequences, I think it’s important. Thanks for reading y’all.

Today is the anniversary of the Olmsted decision which stated that disabled people deserved to receive care in their own communities rather than be forced into institutions. Unfortunately, we still have a long way to go. RIP Lois Curtis.
