I am regretful to admit a friend convinced me to try Fortnite and it’s actually really fun. Beneath the miles deep layer of hyperstimulating visual vomit with all the nightmarish cosmetics, there is a really fun core game that’s well tuned and plays like butter. Also hot furries.

I already vaguely knew some of the psychology behind social media addiction but learning about Skinner Boxes made me realize just how frequently I still scrool, even on stuff other than SM like just on Steam or PS Store, I’ll sit and window shop for hours at a time. Same mechanism.
