I would like to know more about Mahmoud Khalil 🇵🇸 🇸🇾 🇺🇸

In the world I'd like to live in, people are able to buy what they need from sellers they trust, who have their employees and the Earth's best interests at heart. No one buys anything without considering where it came from, how it was made and/or got to them, and where it'll go after it's used.

In the world I'd like to live in, it's okay for strangers to notice, talk to, and show empathy and consideration for each other. People think other people are interesting and mysterious and probably have something to teach them. Extending goodwill to people you don't know comes naturally.

Given how messed up everything generally is in the U.S.A. and that I don't know how it's going to end I'm going to start writing about what I wish would happen - about the world I wish we'd bring into being. Maybe we can.

Einzelgänger posted an interesting video on YT about technofeudalism. Excerpt from their post about it:

This vote was to start the process of the cuts. It WILL come back for a final vote. There are some chances to slow or potentially stop it. Need constant pressure on GOP Focus on GOP swing seats & key committees. Energy & Commerce is where the Medicaid fight will go down. Ways&Means for tax fight.

To the Americans saying government employees should experience the same job insecurity those who work in the private sector do: not unless you want even lower quality public services. Recruiting and training qualified government employees takes years - stability and continuity work in your favor.

Federal government agencies were already under-resourced. Losing more talent and funding will lead to the loss of services and the deterioration of those that remain. Period.

The Sustainable Development Goals are good enough for the world. Why not for the world's richest country? No need to re-invent the wheel!

"We must all become organizers now" Congress is failing us, the courts are unreliable, we have to save ourselves

Federal employees take care to safeguard sensitive information about the services they provide to the public and the public they serve. They are responsible for balancing being transparent with maintaining security, in compliance with the law and applicable regulations and guidance.
