Reading, for the first time, William Shirer's The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. The parallels to our present moment are beyond dispute. As Santayana said, "Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it."

They are sending roving bands of masked thugs with the stated goal of kidnapping 20 million brown people to transport them to any country they can pay to take them. All this has been cleared by The Stolen Court. This is not deportation. This is ethnic cleansing.

Someone tell this dumbfuck you either embrace naked power in the service of fascism and shrug off the criticism, OR you get to whine about "harsh words" targeting judges. You don't get to do both, dipshit, and you made your choice. apnews.com/article/supr...

So why is everyone mad at the lame Dem establishment? Because in the face of fascism you should - i mean really should - be screaming from the rafters. We need new leadership. #ZohranMamdani

The budget bill contains tens of billions to fund an army of 10,000 more ICE agents. This is a red alert moment for our democracy.

ICE *already* can't meet their detainment numbers without rounding up children, veterans, people born in the U.S., people with no criminal records, people at immigration hearings, plus academics and visitors with valid visas. So who do they plan to detain with >10x the budget? The answer is: you.

"Ice officials arrested the daughter of a US veteran...Alma Bowman, 58, was taken into custody by Ice during a check-in at the Atlanta field office, despite her having lived in the US since she was 10 years old." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

"[It] drove into a lane meant for oncoming traffic, then corrected itself by driving across a double yellow line...the cars exceeding the speed limit, braking for no discernible reason and dropping passengers off in the middle of an intersection." #ElonMusk www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

The Dem establishment is so fucking lame. The gerontocracy must fall. Primary them ALL. www.theguardian.com/news/ng-inte...

Not unlike the ugly men who hunted down escaped slaves. ICE are equivalent of the Nazi Brown Shirts that terrorized Jews and enemies of Hitler. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

All we have left are the streets. Old wilted Dems are not representing us and the SC has stripped our rights. We have to take it to the streets!

This is incredible. The youngest voters had the highest turnout rate in New York City’s Democratic primary for mayor. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/29/n...

Hakeem Jeffries is so skilled at being a disappointment. The worst opposition leader possible. I am so sick of rank careerism and incompetence.

‼️‼️

The irrational exuberance of the Masters of the Universe who time and again act against their own interests is stunning. Senate just approved the BBB which is going to wreck the economy and impoverish most Americans. #FuckOligarchy

They always pretend to be sensible moderates before voting to kick 10M people off their healthcare and increase the deficit by $10 trillion.

There are only three political positions in America today 1) I like the fascism 2) I'll acquiesce to the fascism (reasons for this one vary: cowardice, access, denial, misguidedly thinking that acquiescence is savvy, etc) 3) I oppose the fascism The rest is details

"Some of the people targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) have been US citizens. In one incident, Ice agents detained a Honduran woman seeking asylum and her children, one of which was a six-year-old boy who had been diagnosed with leukemia." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

HA HA HA HA... 🤣😂😂

"[T]he one and only major legislative effort of Trump 2.0 — is the most regressive, least populist policy package in memory. With its distinctive mix of tax cuts laser-focused on the rich and spending cuts that most hurt middle- and low-income Americans..." www.nytimes.com/2025/06/25/o...

A lawless, illegitimate Court decimates the Constitution. #Fascism

Over the past two centuries or so...that New York is America’s largest city...that at least 1 in 5 city residents were born outside the U.S. Over that same period, New York has become the beating heart of world capitalism and culture — largely because of, not despite, that immigration. @pbump.com

The #SupremeCourt just abolished all our constitutional rights. Without a remedy there is no right. #Fascism www.nytimes.com/2025/06/28/u...

Well, it was a nice constitutional republic while it lasted. #Fascism www.nytimes.com/2025/06/28/u...

So, how does this get fixed? Obviously not through the judicial branch? The legislative, one assumes? Or would the Supreme Court simply negate any new law that has passed that might undo something they've already done or otherwise check their power?

Absolutely chilling. They just greenlit #Fascism

The “State of Exception” or Ausnahmezustand, is a legal concept by Nazi legal theorist Carl Schmitt, that a strong executive sovereign can step forward, ignore the law and issue extralegal acts, theoretically for the public good but that depends how you define “public”

The Supreme Court has just given the green light to fascism. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

there is no jurisprudence at work here. the republican court believes that anything a republican president is presumptively constitutional, even if it directly violates the unambiguous constitutional text and causes total chaos in law and policy.

“No right is safe in the new legal regime the Court creates.” –Justice Sonia Sotomayor. One of the most chilling sentences I have ever read.

Deporting children born on military bases This is un-American He does not give a dam about our active military, and he cares even less about our veterans www.austinchronicle.com/daily/news/2...

What? Wasn’t Sen Ted Cruz born abroad too? Should we deport him? www.austinchronicle.com/daily/news/2...

"The subtext of this handwringing, which has been incessant in the media and among party insiders since the November election, is that the party must move, yet again, to the right. It is presumed that they can’t attract voters otherwise." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
