It’s international sex worker rights day! This day commemorates a protest by Indian sex workers on march 3, 2001, now celebrated all over the world. I recommend this film about the organizing of Indian sex workers, “tales of the night fairies” youtu.be/Ystke5m8now?si…

The Trump administration is: *breaking the law by not spending appropriated money from Congress *breaking the law by ignoring a court order *lying about it *killing people *silencing public employees who are pointing all of this out

interruptions in social security will make so many new people homeless, I can’t even think about it

For history students, "_____ issues" is an update to "the _____ problem"

This is the most wretched campaign of deliberate, explicit persecution the United States has perpetrated against a minority group in decades. Many of the most important people in politics and journalism are busying themselves trying to figure out how little to say or do about it.

New from me for @truthout.org: ever since day one of his administration trans people’s passports are in limbo. I spoke with some about what that means for their lives and who is fighting for them:

worth saying again that this was a bait and switch. if trump had openly announced he was running on allowing companies to discriminate against women and minorities he would not have won wapo.st/43aVQg1

Today, I joined @balint.house.gov and Democratic colleagues in sending a letter to President Trump urging him to rescind his Executive Order that bans gender-affirming care, which is critical to saving trans lives. (1/2)

Remember this when Bondi releases the Epstein logs.

Remember when covid19 was reportedly causing rapid cognitive deterioration and the best guesses from experts was that everyone was going to literally get dumber and dumber with constant reinfections. Did i dream that part of 2020?

It's so funny how they keep doing this. Every time they get mad about something. They do this whole "We've played thousands of hours of harmless games designed to be entertaining and hold our attention! This somehow will appreciably translate to real world endurance and invincibility!" thing.

An essential piece for every American to read:

Listen. No seriously, listen: Being a gamer does NOT impact you with ANY skills or characteristics that will make you stronger or more competent or more resilient in real life than anyone else. And, in fact, having a large part of your life devoted to an *engineered* sense of achievement by…

This vote was to start the process of the cuts. It WILL come back for a final vote. There are some chances to slow or potentially stop it. Need constant pressure on GOP Focus on GOP swing seats & key committees. Energy & Commerce is where the Medicaid fight will go down. Ways&Means for tax fight.

Congressional Republicans tried to pull a fast one. They called off the budget vote that cuts healthcare for over 38 million children and just put it back up after everyone left to try and make some Democrats miss the vote. Many Dems are voting by card to keep the vote open. I just did mine.

it's going to be important, when all of this is said and done, that doge staffers like gavin kliger and luke farritor are held civilly and legally responsible for their actions, because from a moral and justice standpoint, the alternative is unmentionable on this and any website.

one thing this demonstrates is the extent to which racial, gender, and sexual discrimination has been an important cause and substance of worker organizing, rather than (as is too often claimed) some kind of HR-driven distraction

According to the language used in the actual order it effects literally any non-US trans person who gets flagged as trans either by TSA or records So, to keep the score, we've got US trans folks being either refused or having misgendered passports issues and now intl ones can't come in. Cool.

The public comment period for changing passports to misgender trans people is open. Please take a moment to let them know that you do not support that change.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art posted this today and it’s still cracking me up

Speed running the loss of civil rights I see

this is the guy who invented the "critical race theory" moral panic btw. he's outright said that was a success and his next target was trans people
