After replaying Carcassonne: the City a few times at the weekend, we've decided to try and get all our Carcassonne versions to the table this month. Next up - and a version that sits comfortably in our top three versions - Carcassonne: Over Hill and Dale πŸ‘ #boardgames

Well, I’m about a third through and no word of a lie, this is an absolute bloody joy! πŸ™‚

Travelling tonight back to one of the first favourite albums of my post(?) goth period. I’ve just realised how long that is now. Hope Is Important Absolute belter πŸ™‚

3rd game only 28th, but I *was* drinking a fairly generous drink at the time πŸ™‚

Next game, I came 2nd? Old school skillz I guess πŸ˜‚

The lad just asked me to play Fortnite. He spent most of the game laughing at me, and yarping vaguely arcane instructions. I came 3rd out of 100(?) he said. Heh. I knew those Saturday afternoons playing Half Life online would come in useful eventually πŸ™‚

Read the rest of the available chapters just now. Tomorrow can't arrive quickly enough @joeabercrombie.com! Right up my street, this!

Carcassonne: the City, three quarters of the way through. We don't play this version very often, but it's always welcome πŸ™‚

Had been entirely holding off reading anything about Joe Abercrombie’s new book, The Devils. That said…with it coming out *tomorrow* I woke up on this bank holiday Monday, made a big cup of tea, and immediately flew through the first ten chapters on reactormag.com Absolutely bloody glorious πŸ™‚

We saw Thunderbolts this morning, showing The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou to the lad (he really enjoyed Grand Budapest Hotel last week) this afternoon. πŸ™‚

The arrival of the first new Laundry RPG book has prompted a swift resumption of my reread of the series! Am about halfway through The Apocalypse Codex again πŸ‘

A month until UKGE πŸ™‚

In somewhat hilariously timed fashion, someone who I've not seen in two decades has just come into the shop and asked 'where's your long hair gone?' πŸ˜‚

It occurs to me that I need a new hat for summer. I have loads of hats for cold weather, but nothing much for when it turns nice. Also - problematically - I am *monstrously* picky when it comes to hats.

I've been shaving my head for 21 years now, and in that time have become well versed in keeping out of the sun. Totally misjudged Monday's weather though. Slightly singed scalp. What a dope!

So about 40 years ago, one of my mates' dad had a pub in town. We did band practice, homework, and gaming stuff there. It was our impromptu HQ. My mate and his dad are long gone. I have been back a couple of times since. I am sat in the beer garden πŸ™‚

Three and a half decades together this week, so...day off and cocktails! Anniversary feet πŸ™‚

So, our 14 read 1000 pages of Invincible this last week. Do you have any more? he asked. *gestures to shelves* all yours, whenever you want them mate πŸ™‚

And - no s1/2 spoilers please - we have made it to the last episode of S1 of Severance tonight.

I was doodling a thing this morning some time before 6am and it didn't have a title or anything outside of 'waste world' and that (by 6:30) led into me singing Do You Believe In The West World by Theatre of Hate. I was in Spear of Destiny territory by 8!

I'm a simple boardgamer chap at heart - one thing that I would very much enjoy is a copy of The Castles of Burgundy that a) doesn't look like an affront to the eyes, and b) doesn't cost a million quid and is full of plastic. Give me a Β£30 version of a fantastic game that's just - functional.

The reading jam of the last month got a proper boot this week. This week's read / this week's ongoing read! πŸ˜€ #books

Rewatched so many times, still bloody glorious πŸ˜€

I am sat in the garden. It is sunny. I am enjoying it. Something is quite clearly amiss.
