If this wasn't Epic's strategy all along, it probably should have been. Because it played out almost exactly as I thought it would, strategy-wise. With Apple looking foolish. Or worse...

It's not just AI slop, it's AI sloppy. ⌾ The Inner Ring ⌾

Google would surely be seeking $100B+ for Chrome if they were forced to sell it...

It's getting rather comical in terms of how much Apple is bringing these two OSes together without either merging them or letting you just boot macOS on the very capable iPad Pro...

Microsoft and OpenAI may be bickering once again, but what is causing the strain now?

God forbid anyone actually reads a room. Better to change the room. ⌾ The Inner Ring ⌾

A decade from now, in the inevitable wave of Big AI™ trials, the verdicts may very well come down to the same old question: buy, build, or bury? ⌾ The Inner Ring ⌾

While Netflix failed to become HBO is a good way, HBO failed to become Netflix in a bad way...

It's one thing to offer the Llama models on their clouds – again, they're "open source" (read: open weight) and thus, free – it's another to help pay to build them! ⌾ The Inner Ring ⌾

Oh, OpenAI would take Chrome off Google's hands? The burden of those 3+ billion users too? How magnanimous of them!

Specifically, $230M is not $16.45B. And $570M is not $39.1B. 🥊

Things are always litigated in hindsight, of course. But tech's always accelerating evolution seems to be making antitrust litigation especially hard... ⌾ The Inner Ring ⌾

I, for one, will not believe we have achieved AGI until an AI can fully explain this naming structure. And we're not there yet.

One day, these companies will likely learn to keep such communication to phone calls or, even better, in person. Luckily for us, today is not that day.

Beats as the brand for products that Apple doesn't want to brand as Apple products...

A freak in the yeets?

Can the Squid become the Whale? (Can Netflix become a $1T company?)

This is one of those subtle tweaks that I wouldn't be shocked if it portends far greater things: a massive expansion of Apple into the advertising business.

If the government were to force Meta to sell off Instagram, the entire company is fucked.

With both the Vision Pro and iPadOS, Apple is seemingly pivoting to the "faster horses" strategy... (i.e. give the users what they're asking for.) ⌾ The Inner Ring ⌾

These reports paint a picture of Apple that wasn't just aimless, they were rudderless.

Hold your iPhone close, literally. Probably keep it in your pocket.

And just like that, Apple is no longer the most valuable company in the world.

I'm sorry, you need to come up with something better than the old slogan with more expository.

People willing to do crazy things often get what they want because most people aren't willing to do crazy things. That's the ultimate art of Trump's deal, I suspect.

I'm old enough to remember when videogame adaptations were pure poison at the box office...

Nintendo debated the name 'Super Switch' but worried it would confuse consumers who remembered the Super Nintendo (which didn't play original Nintendo games). Meh, weak...

What are you hearing around the Alexa+ launch so far? Likely a bunch of crickets…

Four tickets to ride… all at once. Crazy, or a brilliant release strategy?

One element has been behind the recent moves of Xitter, CoreWeave, and OpenAI: debt. ⌾ The Inner Ring ⌾

Without a theatrical release, no one can hear your studio head scream. spyglass.org/the-electric...

TL;DRs don't work very well if the AI didn't even R.

There's a new $100B+ AI startup in town as xAI takes Xitter under its wings, thus likely creating a true 'X'. (As I predicted might happen.)

This isn’t the end of art. It may indeed be the dawn of a new age for art. And that may not devalue the human-created art as is the clear fear right now. In fact, it may even elevate it.
