Sweet little Blue Jay. Never thought I’d find comfort in drawing birds but here we are. They’re somehow lovely to think about while the world is falling apart.

Look, he made some big mistakes but Neville Chamberlain was a more decent man than any of the amoral trashbags currently being compared to Neville Chamberlain. He wasn't actively rooting for Hitler.

Morning. Starling from the Wellcome Collection.

Website went down overnight, but back up again now thanks to the helpful fixes from my tech-savvy partner. Tech-savvy people who give away their skills and time to family and friends, we see you and appreciate you!

Working on my website changes this morning, including some design tweaks and a portfolio update, which now proudly opens with a ‘Birds’ section. With Nautical art following right behind. spyglassillustration.com More art and prints coming up soon.

I’m glad to see the force of nature that is Kieran Culkin get his due this awards season, but Ed Norton as Pete Seeger was perfection and I wish he got more recognition. Someone give Ed an award!

Another bird illustration. I need some of this guy’s positivity.

It’s one year since Putin murdered the Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny in prison. A watershed moment for the opposition from which it has not recovered. I highly recommend reading Navalny’s memoir. A true hero’s journey and an inspiration for our current battles. His spirit must live on.

New work, just finished.
