worldbuilding pet peeve: when someone translates a poem from a fictional language to english, but it still rhymes in english!!!! direct translations usually don’t rhyme!!!!!!! the one ring inscription gets a pass I GUESS because tolkein made a whole elvish language and it also rhymes there

daily squid update next thing I wanted to figure out was the star-creating minigame. this is a big part of the core loop, so it’s important to make sure it’s interesting! I used python to prototype a deckbuilder-inspired system which I think works quite nicely!
