This little dude is 9 today. We now have 2 x 9yo and 1 x 4yo.

Eating my 5 a day

This past week can be summed up as: Responding to requests with unreasonable (and often moving) deadlines.

We're house hunting...only the market seems to mean there are very few houses available which meet our needs.

I had an observer while I was working earlier

The best bit of Friday was a semi regular catch-up with @noursidawi.uk Thinking of all my CS colleagues going through SR fun

Another interesting image from the pile of dim and distant past. Looking at it we think it is a reprint or a copy taken from a newspaper. We're not sure if it is beginning of WW1 or just after in Northern Ireland

I've been given some photos to pick from various family members, many of whom have passed in recent years before I was born. This lovely photo is of my granny and her dad. He served in the first and second world war, hence the range of medals.

The youngest is obsessed with these pages of @ofalafel.bsky.social book. He keeps making me go back to it and just sits laughing his head off even before I've made any noises.

So far I am: 1. Using Mondays to tackle the post covid driving anxiety; 2. Have created space for extra drop ins and 121s with everyone in my team not just my direct reports.

Our daughter is having a home cinema birthday party. Wicked is on, there are tons of sweets and popcorn and witches hats

Back to work tomorrow. I hope everyone has fixed everything before I get to the office? I hope all the CS folks are doing ok?

Big news in our house. Our ARFID (Avoidant/restrictive Food intake disorder) 4 yo has just eaten a strawberry! He also tried mandarin yesterday, and these little moments are amazing. Small wins. He'll probably refuse it for a while now, but it's a small win

Freezing but fantastic evening at Longleat with the family.

Ambition for 2025: 1. Tackle anxiety acquired during covid, which affects public speaking and driving; 2. Create more time and space to help others develop their careers; 3. Make time for my development and 4. Win euromillions.

Golden pheasant at the local farm is called Trump. Hiding somewhere is another one called Theresa

I'm very proud of my teams and all of Team DASA. Take a look at our Annual Review and find out about what we're achieving in Defence and Security Innovation. www.linkedin.com/posts/defenc...

In late March 25, I'll be speaking at DPRTE 25 in the Digital, Data and Technology Zone. My Mastermind topic of choice is: Accelerating Impact: Leveraging the Power of Partnerships

Pretty lucky day today as the local train station had a steam train in for most of the day. Really pleased we were allowed into the cab where the driver was baking cookies.
