“I personally was pretty surprised, actually, at how efficient the government was,” Sahil Lavingia told NPR's Juana Summers.

@iwriteok.bsky.social @margaret.bsky.social in the “gotta find a little joy where you can” department, thank you for mentioning the song All You Fascists Bound To Lose In the Woodie Guthrie episodes. Looking for a recording led me to discover Nina Hagen. Which has been an Experience(TM).

it gets me how Democrats are like "Mr. Trump's actions are concerningly authoritarian and threaten due process" while normal people are like "that's my friend who you kidnapped and you're going to hell when you die."

Seen this going around but I’m Reposting it with the full alt text bc everyone deserves to read this glorious reply from Boy George

I suspect that fact that the vast majority of LLM users don’t seem to have received this (really very simple!) message is because the AI companies have a vested interest in us not understanding it. “ChatGPT is smart, it just makes mistakes sometimes” is much more marketable than the truth.

This is a big deal. Stephen Fry is difficult to dismiss as a fringe figure. He's as middle-of-the-road establishment as they come - with the politics and long silence on this issue to match. JKR and her fan club won't just be able to shrug this off. www.standard.co.uk/showbiz/step...

Dude grasping at straws to blame the Black female truck driver only to get noted over and over

not to lib out but when was the last time a news reporter was on the ground, on national television, and directly attributed blame to the police for violence and brutality

Simone Biles comes for Riley Gaines

I did find myself agreeing with his statement that no one should be accepting medical advice from him.

On the Glorious 25th May we remember John Keel, Dai Dickens, Ned Coates, Horace Nancyball, Billy Wiglet, Cecil Clapman, and (sort of) Reg Shoe. “They did the job they didn’t have to do, and they died doing it” #gnuterrypratchett #speakhisname #theglorious25may #HowDoTheyRiseUp

Welp. This would have taken at least a year off my life span. *flicks holy water at screen*

travelling to the US soon? link: www.wired.com/story/how-to...

So currencies. Much medium of exchange. Very store of value.

Warnock: I hear people attack poor people and act like it’s a crime to be poor, rather than to recognize it’s criminal for so many people to be poor. They do all of this in the name of Jesus… Jesus is the biggest victim of identity theft in the United States

“Hmm, I wonder why the ground looks green?” “Oh!” 🤯

‘I can't think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist’ ~ Pedro Pascal

Going to start taking my walks in the local park in a t-shirt reading “Don’t Ask Me About Your Kid’s Game”. I don’t know where “the soccer field” is. Or “the softball field”. I definitely don’t know where “the complex” is. No kids, I only came here to walk where I won’t get run over, sir.

Costco is a really popular subject for business-success case studies but I feel like business guys kinda lose interest when the upshot of the study is like "just operate with scrupulous integrity in all facets and levels of your business for four decades" and not some easy-to-fix gimmick

News! Wee Free Men, Thief of Time and Monstrous Regiment are being adapted into graphic novels with Transworld and Puffin. I’m word wrangling on WFM, and Gary Chudleigh and Rachel Stott are adapting ToT. Exciting times! www.thebookseller.com/rights/terry...
