Heartbreaking isn't it. Nothing is safe from predatory developers.

Yup. We've been fighting Glenbrook Property for almost a year since they closed the 115yr old cinema in Birmingham. Sick of these phallus obsessed vampires leaching off our beloved cultural sites.

We hope the UK's oldest cinema, The Electric, will soon join The Crown, The Old Rep and The Market Hotel on Historic England's Grade II list. Station Street is the UK's most important grassroots arts street. The Electric has stood at its heart since 1909. Stop Glenbrook Property.

A HUGE round of applause to WMVicSoc for their comprehensive application & research! What started life as a rail hotel & basket warehouse became New St. Station's Platform 13 for artists & railwaymen. It's now protected from demolition by property developers eyeing cheap profit

The Market Hotel joins The Old Rep and The Crown as listed building #3 on Station Street. We still await recommendations on the UK's oldest cinema, The Electric by Historic England BUT this is another vital protection for the country's most important grassroots arts street 🎉🥂
