Marseille is pretty car-clogged by European standards, but it was inspiring to see their efforts to improve. Yesterday, coastal Corniche Kennedy was closed to car traffic and being enjoyed by users of all ages — even in the crazy heat.

A city of 80k in France gives the so-called City of Fountains a run for its money. We simply can't afford nice things in the US. But at least we have billionaires.

What could we build if we spent the $7 trillion the proposed tax cuts will cost us in the next 20 years if we instead decided to actually invest in something that would help our economy? We have to think about this as an investment and interrogate the return.

Still not over the fact that American engineers wouldn't design a green trackway for KC's extension to the riverfront that goes through a park. Bilbao's is beautiful.

A young player on my co-ed soccer team attempting to bond with me, the oldest player, by telling me she knows what Vine was.

Not just for kids, nerds!

Are these things problem, solution, or a little of both? Cars intruding into the micromobility world, or a pathway to transportation alternatives for folks who wouldn't or couldn't otherwise partake? We're discussing on an upcoming multistory.show and I need your hot takes!

For the first time in my life, I have less-than-perfect vision. Looking for KC optometrist recommendations. Near downtown or major transit lines is a must.

This is the perfect graphic and perfectly sums up my client's offerings. Well played, AI.

As usual, Michael said it better than me. Would be great to see the @kcur.org coverage include this important nuance.

We should talk about how it is fashionable to drive vehicles that weight 2-3x what they used to, for no other utilty than looking tough, and what these monsters do to accelerate the destruction of our roads. Time to tax vehicle size and weight in a meaningful way. www.kcur.org/news/2025-05...

My absolute priority is building more housing for more people, so I'm not going to nitpick in a way that imperils that... but man, it would have been cool to keep some of the old trestles, bridges and tracks that gave Kansas City's River Market a link to its history and a serious sense of place.

Personally, I think folks should pull their destroyed homes back up by the bootstraps.

The money my neighborhood (and most like it) spends on private security is more investment in car dependence. We pay people to drive around in cars to keep people from breaking into or stealing cars.

An almost example of how women sometimes suffer professionally from their humility: Arsenal Women manager Renee Slegers took over as interim and demurred about deserving the job permanently. She almost didn't get it, but her results were undeniable. Today, her team are champions of Europe.

This project brought the underlying economics of development to the surface: even next to a streetcar stop, we value peak parking supply more than we value building accessible housing for people. After years of KC optimism, this is the one that made me stop hoping for better.
