Couldn’t be more proud of our students at @bioanth.org! Members of LEEP @uarizona.bsky.social past & present presented on the hormones of parenting in humans and lemurs, new gut microbiome methods, & seasonal androgens in male & female sifaka.

So proud of LEEP Lab member @paigewagstaff.bsky.social for her second award on her investigation of the relationship between maternal pre- and postpartum oxytocin levels and significant childhood adversity in humans!

Shout-out to Katie King @katieking1110.bsky.social for an awesome poster on paternal care and fecal glucocorticoid metabolites in Red-bellied Lemur fathers. She looks at fluctuating concentrations pre- and post-birth & associations with care behaviors. #AABA2025 #PoopScience #BehavioralEndocrinology

Healthcare is a human right, and this is unacceptable. $2,000,000,000,000. Two TRILLION Dollars. That's an incredible amount of lost healthcare. Call your representatives today. Email your representatives today. Speak out. www.house.gov/representati...

If I’ve learned one thing from this ordeal, once you’re on a list it’s too late. Stop the lists from being made. Make them confront what their list making supports.

After 9 years in the making, it's finally out (!) White-faced capuchins with a stronger stress response to previous droughts were more likely to survive a severe El Niño drought. Kudos to the heroic efforts of first authors Sofia Carrera and Irene Godoy. www.science.org/doi/epdf/10....

For folks on the market in social sciences.

Scientific racism is a blight on science & isn’t going to go away if scientists ignore it. So I’ve teamed up w/ Magdalena Hurtado, @drsarahmyers.bsky.social & @abbeyepage.bsky.social to highlight & counter this problem by editing a special collection of Evolutionary Human Sciences. Please share CfP👇

A friend just told me about a whole bunch of updates to the NSF proposal guidelines taking effect 5/20: new.nsf.gov/policies/pap... Some of these include: changes to biosketch, addition of grads to the mentoring plan (good), and IDPs included as reporting (this one is less clear re: enforcement)

Excited and nervous to share our new paper TLDR: Folks talk about contraception as a silver bullet for BIG problems in the Global South. Not only are these arguments racist/misogynist (long established), but the evidence for them is much thinner than we’ve been led to believe. We dig in a bit!
