I love your dogs, my dogs and all dogs, Star Wars, reading, the Steelers and Penguins, and all things Pittsburgh. Rush is the greatest band ever, end of discussion. I am liberal and don't think that's a bad word. Godzilla is my spirit animal.

I’m thinking it’s time to re-release Schindler’s List. People need to be reminded that this has happened and is always a threat to happen again if we’re not vigilant.

You know, I'm living in a constant state of terror, and it struck me this morning how completely unnatural that is. We're not supposed to be afraid of our government—quite the opposite. But I'm scared for myself, for my family, for everyone around me who relies on the things their taxes paid for.

I’ve said it before: this is not 1933 Germany. This is so much worse. The absolute explosion taking down our civil rights is louder, bigger and faster than even the Nazi party could do initially. If you’re not totally terrified I’m worried you’re not paying attention or in full denial.

I want to tell you why the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia should matter to you. The one power you cannot give the executive is the ability to imprison or expel anyone regardless of their legal rights. That is our key check against autocracy. And we are watching it disappear.

Q: What distinguishes a prison from a concentration camp?

The time when the game over but your dog is cuddling so you can’t move.

Do you ever wonder if this is just some wild disturbing dream you can’t wake up from?

I really really want to support Penn State at their first Frozen Four but I’m not even sure I can make it to puck drop. It’s official: I’m old. #WeAre

Down near campus in Pittsburgh on a rush hour Tuesday. Protestors never rest!!

Hi. Books are incredibly important. Please let them be.

You know, I’ve seen MAGAs saying all day among other things that we were paid to go the Hands Off rallies, that we’re hateful and un-American. I was angry and hurt by the hypocrisy until I got it: we struck a nerve. If we didn’t they wouldn’t care. #HandsOff

I can't claim to be a long-suffering Pirates fan; I couldn't have cared less about them before I moved here, but I've watched good players like Andrew McCutchen give this team their all, and I've watched fans stick with it, so I can say that Pittsburgh deserves so much more than this owner gives us.

#HandsOff in Pittsburgh

Hey rally goers in Pittsburgh: what time do Yinz plan on getting dahntahn? I’m struggling to figure out when to leave and have a reasonable expectation of finding parking.

While highly opinionated, I'm pretty introverted. Therefore, it speaks volumes that I've gone way outside my comfort zone to send emails to all my representatives about social security and petitioning for due process for immigrant detainees, and I'm going to a protest on Saturday. 1/2

Since it’s a hockey night and Penguins are my team, my hashtag for tonight is #FlippersUp

Remember when we thought Nixon was about as bad of a President as we could possibly have? Ahh, memories...

Someone explain to me if Morgan Wallen was going to be so pissy on #SNL why he agreed to do the show to begin with? It’s not like they’re a leopard that changed spots.

The Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History executive order should be ringing resounding alarm bells across the entire free world. I’m practically speechless I’m so aghast, and I’m pretty sure keeping us all speechless is exactly what this administration is trying to do. #freedomunderattack

Well hockey sucked tonight but the pairs figure skating free skate was 🔥, so you know, take your joy where you find it.

The news is bad. Pittsburgh sports is bad (well, the fact that the Pirates took it down to the bottom of the 9th is not too shabby). So here are some dogs. They are good (mostly; Geddy misbehaves).

Do you ever listen to the news every morning and think to yourself, "We're all going to die?" I really have that feeling today in particular.

Interesting that @pearljam.com wrote this in 2020.

I am retiring my blog, which I started as a lark about the misadventures of aging. I figured I'd go down swinging since I was going down, and venture into politics. But it's a strange time where I don't think any bystanders can exist. wrinkleswithtime.blogspot.com/2025/03/leav...

Sheets? Mom, we don’t need sheets, see? I can totally take up all the space on the bed without them!

I just cussed a blue streak when Ned gave up that goal and my husky looked at me like, “Language please!” #LetsGoPens

I’m a witch y’all!!

Here’s spring in Pittsburgh summed up: yesterday I walked the dog in shorts, today I wore a jacket, hunter’s cap and mittens.

It’s hard to wake up in the morning, work out, show up at work, in short: do normal things because the world is so not normal right now. But it makes me realize how sheltered a life I’ve lived all this time. If I want that same sense of security for my grands, looks like I’ll need to fight for it.

So I like this Blue Sky thing so far but am wondering, dear Blue Sky algorithm, why you’re feeding me cat pictures when my profile is one of my dogs, and I clearly am a dog lover. Is that perhaps to tease my dogs?

Hi there! I'm new here. I'm in Pittsburgh, vote Democratic, love the Steelers and the Penguins, have five loud, rowdy dogs and love to read. Hope I make some friends!
