Just finished reading ‘Snuggie Bain’ by Douglas Stuart. What an outstanding book. The story of a young single parent (most of the time) family where that parent, the mother is an alcoholic. So we’ll written you feel like you’re almost in the room with them

Just wanted a to make a general point about courts that I’ve found the general public don’t appreciate. As far as a court is concerned there are rules about what can be put into evidence and if it isn’t put before the court it didn’t happen (irrespective of whether it did in the outside world)

This seems fine.

Not a huge fan of Booker Prize winning books usually but I’m reading Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart (2020 winner) and honestly it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read. It’s so descriptive it’s like being there with them

Just like much of the furore this week, here is an example of a law passed 4 years ago and the Tories did nothing with it. Within months of us being in power we delivered the scheme because we are about actual actions and real outcomes. They talked we walked. www.burytimes.co.uk/news/2484314...

Bit cold in Arbroath but nice to see a couple of old Blades get off the Alloa team bus!

I can see friends of mine being sucked into the cesspit created by the lies and propaganda / misinformation being spread by the right wing and genuinely am starting to feel sorry that decent people at heart aren’t more questioning. The lies are easy to disprove but by then the argument is lost

Big game today. Love a Boxing Day sell at at Bramall Lane

BADLY DRAWN BOY Do They Know It’s Christmas? Throw your arms around the world At Christmas time #BadlyDrawnBoy #BandAid #Christmas

Happy holidays everyone! As always, it’s the big one tomorrow… Around 400 titles. Classics, recent releases, box sets… some absolute bargains. @cheapindievinyl.bsky.social

Christmas has always been a double edged sword for me as an adult. It becomes less of a break and a chance to relax and more of a routine that you feel duty bound to be part of. I work alone and have done for the majority of the last 20 years so no ‘works do’ to look forward to.

www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/sentencing-a... Just having a brief conversation on the other place about England & Wales sentencing guidelines and how they are revised or implemented. I found this pretty informative for anybody interested.

It’s a Christmas miracle 🤣🤣

Least surprising news of the year alert 😂

Been for a walk up Fargate in Sheffield at lunchtime. I think that job they started 25 years ago might be finished sometime in the next two years

"Middle-class women of a certain age to the south-west, Sir. A handful of 'em."

My first December book that I loved is the first Michael J Fox autobiography. Loved it the first day I picked it up.

Well I have never done this on Bluesky before so let’s see how you cope with my December song per day. No particular order I just love every one for some reason. Enjoy! I’ll do a book per day too. youtube.com/watch?v=EHC9...

Putting that bet on a 1-0 win 15 mins before kick off whilst still in Butlers Balti turned out ok 🤣

If you see this, post a photo of a beach from your camera roll
