Vicky Foxcroft has resigned as UK Government Whip over ā€œcuts to disabled people’s financesā€.

Vance is Trump’s roving surrogate for sadism, apparently.

Heel normaal gedrag.

Our Autocracy Handbook is made even more timely by this horrifying account of the deportation of an Australian writer. So depressing that we need to think about this stuff. www.newyorker.com/news/the-led...

World awaits decision on WW3 from senile, former Apprentice host who can’t finish train of thought.

ā€œIf Trump Cares About Fighting Antisemitism, Why Did He Pardon These Jan. 6 Insurrectionists?ā€ Some praised Hitler. One wore an ā€˜Auschwitz’ hoodie. Another gave a Nazi salute. The MAGA insurrection was a festival of antisemitism.

There may come a day when the BBC puts on air one of the other 29,999 headteachers currently estimated to be working in UK schools, but that day is not today

No, MPs haven't legalised abortion up to birth. That lie was spread on X by many who should know better. The change is about saving a handful of vulnerable women from trauma and prison. Women about whom those people do not even think. New writing from me open.substack.com/pub/goodalla...

"We didn't vote to deport pastors' wives" If you voted for Trump, yes, you did, hypocrites. Maybe you lied to yourselves only criminals and people eating the cats and the dogs would be deported.

Bluesky is only as successful as it is today because of trans people. Block transphobia on sight and make this a better platform.

Toch fijn dat ze nu ook in Israƫl erkennen dat het bombarderen van een ziekenhuis een grove schending is van het internationale recht.

The anti-abortion movement and what it has wrought is more horrifying than any horror movie. It is a rejection of the dignity of life and a mockery of human wellbeing

I was one of them.

ā€œThe US messed up regime change in Libya and Iraq. So I hope the President in the Situation Room is asking the right questions.ā€ - General Wesley Clark. Riiiight.

This almost makes up for that time Tucker Carlson wouldn’t stop going on and on about how amazing Russian grocery stores are—almost.

Some good news today!

motorists will *never* notice cuts to fuel duty (which they permanently be convinced is too high, and in fact actually purposefully being set to victimise them), but the state will bleed itself dry for their discount that doesn't touch the sides, in a way they never would for public transport users

On the left UKIP's Douglas Carswell in 2014. On the very far right Douglas Carswell in 2025. A worrying demonstration of how extreme some on this country's Brexit wing have become.

Even though everyone think we do it all the time, journalists would regard it as a major scandal if someone was found to be making up anonymous quotes. When you see "one insider said" or "a veteran backbencher" or similar…someone has actually said it.

All this stuff about Britain is broken, all is terrible, there is no recourse, society is falling apart, if there was a war nobody would go, etc is beginning to irritate me. There are doubtlessly considerable problems. But I worry that the catastrophizing could turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy.

There’s no way to determine one’s ethnicity other than self-ID. No other way. So ethnicity is what box is ticked on a form. It’s not culture. It’s not social upbringing. It’s not a motivation nor a cause for anything. Sorry for stating the obvious but I’m getting the feeling it’s not so obvious!

I’ve seen this sentiment expressed on X many times by Zionist accounts, but it’s quite something to hear someone say it on CNN:

"What happened in Ballymena wasn’t panic or collective outrage. It was a crowd eager to act out. The girl at the centre of it was not mentioned once. Not her name. Not a sign. Not a chant. She was not the reason. She was the excuse." šŸ’” @pimlicat.bsky.social

In fairness, I have taken all of them.

Most of the news is horrifying and this story from Bourton-on-the-Water is no exception. Brace yourselves: a family of eight arrived for a picnic to find that… other people were also having picnics 😱 www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/whats-on/wha...

It’s funny cause you could’ve asked anyone who’s ever been posted as a diplomat to a slightly tinpot country and they’ll tell you that long parades are incredibly boring. But Trumpā€˜s greatest aspiration is to be the dictator of a banana republic.

Just Frontex having a booklet for kids about to be deported to tell them it ain’t so bad op.europa.eu/en/publicati...

What does ā€˜has been involved with security situations’ mean? Assuming he’s not bullshitting, Gaza, the West Bank or South Lebanon altogether can only be Israel-related.

"Police found a hit list in suspect's car with nearly 70 different targets including abortion providers" www.cnn.com/us/live-news...

If this dude ends up being a Christian Zionist I hope it serves as one more reminder that Christian Zionism is a death cult I wrote this in September www.hauntologies.net/p/christian-...

Useful thread on Vance Boelter, suspect in Minnesota shootings. (Summary: evangelical Christian Zionist, wannabe-cop.)

The papers have again chosen to hound trans women for our use of the toilets on the Parliamentary estate. This time The Times reports that a trans woman used the women's toilets in Portcullis House last week. She was harassed by two anti-trans campaigners as she did so. 🧵
