Pure calmness working on a train. See you there.

I would like to deploy a side project over and see what the actual usage costs are.
But I will probably keep hosting stuff on my 3-5$ VPS servers.

I definitely feel this.
Taylor mentioned he would like all Laravel devs to deploy to Cloud, but spending 20$ per month just for the hosting platform + compute is a high entry to cross for projects that don't make money.

The "Window Layout"-feature (manual.raycast.com/window-manag...) and the neat UI for extensions is currently the thing that wants me to subscribe.

There's definitely a lot of Windows around as well.
The supermarket I frequent has devices with which you can scan all your items and rush through checkout.
Those seem to run on Android/Linux.
Found the design system of that chain last week. Looks dope.

Will give it a shot tonight. :)

Yeah, some Android or Linux is ususally on them.
It's also quite fun to see, that the "admin" UI looks like hell and the consumer UI I see is all pretty and designed. 😅

Same. The handheld scanners in our super market regularly break and so fun to see the internals 👀

There's still a chance. 😉

Maybe TRMNL goes in the right direction here. Misses the color e-paper screen right now, but you can bring your own hardware.

I almost choked on my drink this morning, when I heard Ukraine is not invited to the table.
He will sell it all as a win and the population will eat it without asking, why Russia is suddenly cooperative. (The US pop seems to have gold fish memory and forgot the Russia stuff in 2016)

The page loaded high-res stills from a video so that it can "play" the video for me while scrolling down. (That section however is half-way down the screen and not above the fold)
Wonder what their hosting/egress bill looks like. 💸

Uuuh. I missed that announcement. Was a big fan of the original series on Netflix back in the day.
That theme tune is still in my gym playlist.

So annoying this whole "oversight" stuff. 🙄🫠

Isn't this the plan of this new administration overall? Move *jobs* / *functions* from the public sector to the private sector and charge the gov a surplus?

Oh no! Hope you can recover soon from this. 🫂

Congratulations. 👏
All the best to all three of you.

Playwright is primarily used as a test runner for JavaScript apps (Vue/React/etc.).
In my exp Playwright is the fastest runner out there; compared to Dusk, Selenium or Cypress.
What you don't get is a Laravel integration. No easy way to migrate or seed your DB; as far as I know.

We do the key/value thing for years for our Jigsaw powered landingpages for years.
Works okay, if each language has the same design elements.

Just saw our other post. This device is $1000, so might not be the best solution for other meetups. :(

Video stream of each device is recorded on a hard disk and can be used how you like it.
We've uploaded the output from RodeCaster to YouTube and includes all the transitions and switches.

You might want to talk with @xanobius.bsky.social or @jan-boesch.net.
For our Swiss meetup, they bought a RodeCaster video. Hooked up all the different devices and manage and cut from this device.

(I think we would be more than happy to provide a guide for this (?))

AWS SES. Setup is trivial and had never a real problem with it.
