We should be aiming so much higher than "Well, the service in some towns is fine"... Rural communities deserve a first-class frequent bus service. I'm so glad to have @eddavey.libdems.org.uk in this fight alongside me 💪

If coastal erosion was threatening central London, you can bet the government would move heaven & earth to solve it... 🌊 Here in North Norfolk, where we have one of the fastest eroding coastlines in Western Europe, we expect that same level of urgency to tackle this emergency.

🚍🚆 I want to see a transformation in rural public transport. Residents in North Norfolk deserve the best. That means more buses everywhere & a more frequent train service from every station. It was great to sit down with @CBTransport to discuss how we make my vision reality.

It's not good enough to say that social care reform will come in 3 years+ 😡 The sector is on its knees now & at breaking point. That's why I joined the National Association of Carers & Support Workers today to demand fair pay for care workers & more funding for community care.

Residents in every community in North Norfolk should be able to hop on a bus where they are to get them to where they want to go 🚍 That isn't a pipedream. It's a bold vision that'll require bold action and leadership. I met with Sanders recently to get the ball rolling.

Really glad to have @eddavey.libdems.org.uk 's support for my campaign for the introduction of a Coastal Minister. This will ensure that areas like North Norfolk get the focus and attention they deserve from the government.

Road safety along the A148 has been a cause for concern for as far back as I can remember - it's time for action. Last night, I hosted a meeting to discuss what action can be taken to keep all road users safe.

Family farms are at the heart of our rural communities. Spent today with @steffanaquarone.bsky.social - listening to farmers who fear losing everything. The government must listen to them too, and scrap the Family Farm Tax.

Great to welcome @eddavey.libdems.org.uk to Norfolk today & visit one of our county's many hard-working family farms 🚜 🐄 I'm doing all I can to ensure the government #ScrapTheFamilyFarmTax and choose to #BackBritishFarming instead.

👇 To cut a long story short...

It's National Apprenticeship Week! Apprentices can offer businesses fresh ideas, creativity & new perspectives to give them an edge. I'm urging more Norfolk businesses to take on an apprentice this week.

No child should go hungry in our country. We need proper reform to the system, so that eligible children automatically get the food they need.

Our children deserve the best 🌟 A bigger digital tax on social media giants could boost state school budgets. No more collapsing classrooms. No more staff cuts. No more basic supplies paid for out of teachers' own pockets.

Nobody in North Norfolk can access radiotherapy treatment within 75 minutes by public transport! We urgently need more services at Cromer Hospital & a first-class rural public transport system. #worldcancerday

BANK HUB OPEN 🎊 It was a real pleasure to cut the ribbon for the opening of the new temporary Bank Hub in Holt this morning 💷 I've campaigned to bring bank hubs to North Norfolk for several years. To see it open was both surreal & exciting.

The beauty of being out & about is that I can meet people where they are. People who may not ordinarily get in touch to raise their concerns. Many issues covered in Cromer today, inc getting more services at Cromer Hospital - something I'm championing at every opportunity!

Great time petitioning in North Walsham today ❤️ Huge support for our calls for a first-class rural bus network in Norfolk. I didn't get into politics to oversee a managed decline in services. Quite the opposite. Head to www.northnorfolklibdems.org.uk/take-action/current-campaigns

I'll never apologise for dreaming big & putting the residents of North Norfolk first 💭🚌 With bus services across Norfolk cut by a third over the last decade, it isn't unreasonable to say we deserve better. www.northnorfolklibdems.org.uk/take-action/current-campaigns & sign my petition today 🙏

We need a joined up approach to tackling the issues faced by coastal communities 🌊 That's why I'm determined to see the creation of a Minister for Coastal Communities. Coastal erosion; sewage spills; our tourism economy... ...we have no time to lose. #MinisterForCoastalCommunities

I'm out today backing North Norfolk's family farmers. The government's Family Farm Tax threatens to kill off many family farms here, and I'm not going to sit back and let that happen. @nfudc.bsky.social ##StopTheFamilyFarmTax

Rural bus services have been decimated. Cut to the bone over many years. It isn't good enough. We should be able to catch a bus that takes us where we want to go, when we want to go. If you agree, sign my petition: www.northnorfolklibdems.org.uk/take-action/current-campaigns

I love getting out and meeting people. It's all too easy, as a politician, to get caught up in the Westminster or County Hall bubble. Real people are what politics is all about ❤️

Norfolk deserves a much better bus service. If you agree, back my petition today 👇 www.northnorfolklibdems.org.uk/take-action/...

To help shine a light on this important campaign, I presented my Save Roughton Post Office petition in Parliament today. It's already secured lots of local signatures, with residents determined to ensure their rural community maintains its access to post office services.

I'm pleased to be a Founding Member of the new All Party Group on @LessSurvivable Cancers. Too many people in North Norfolk have lost loved ones to these deadly cancers. We urgently need more research into tests and treatments for them. #LessSurvivableCancersAwarenessWeek

School budgets are at breaking point 📉 Teachers & parents are already shelling out for basic supplies, & rising costs are set to make matters worse. 📣 WE NEED A DIGITAL TAX ON SOCIAL MEDIA GIANTS, NOW A digital tax would help plug the gap & get our schools back on the right track.

The climate crisis is real. It impacts us here in North Norfolk every day. From flooding & coastal erosion to food production, our way of life is reliant on finding solutions - fast! That's why I'm backing the Zero Hour campaign for a comprehensive and joined-up approach to the climate crisis.

I popped by Sutton Staithe Boatyard this morning to hear all about the sewage & flooding issues they've been dealing with. Great to meet & hear from Rob, who - despite these challenges - is leading a thriving local business & is doing a remarkable job 👏

The pressure is paying off 💪 Much-needed investment for Norfolk & I'll fight to ensure a fair chunk of it is spent in North Norfolk. Big first step in the right direction, but by no means the end.

It was a pleasure, Susan. Glad we could be of help ❤️

Baroness @lizbarkerlords.bsky.social welcomed MPs from across the political spectrum to share the books they hope to give and receive this festive season. 👇 chamberuk.com/book-club-ch... @adamjogee.bsky.social @steffanaquarone.bsky.social @stephengethins.bsky.social

It was great to meet some of our incredible posties this morning at the Royal Mail delivery office in North Walsham 🎅📮🙏 They're working around the clock - and are doing an amazing job - to ensure cards and parcels are delivered in time for Christmas!

A real pleasure to visit King's Court Nursing Home in Holt this morning ❤️ I met with wonderful residents & members of Holt Youth Project to play my small part in helping them bury a lovely time capsule.

Thanks Tony 🙏

Happy Small Business Saturday! 🥳 Small local businesses are the backbone of our communities. I'm continuing to press the govt to reverse their national insurance hike, which will negatively impact small businesses. (1/2)

📣 "Slim profit margins pushed into the red" Instead of punishing small businesses and healthcare providers, the government should be going after wealthy tax-avoiding giants. These national insurance hikes need a rethink.

Residents across North Norfolk rely on a good local postal service. That's why I was out with fellow campaigners today with our Save Roughton Post Office petition. We collected hundreds of signatures, which will help make the case that this rural community should not lose its post office.

🎄🎁🎅 Ittt's Chrrristmassss! What a privilege to open the Briston Christmas Fair this morning! Great to catch up with stallholders, shoppers and local residents.

Zoe's story is heartbreaking 💔 It's one of the numerous reasons why I'll be voting for the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill today.

Today, I will be voting for the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill.

Today, I asked @edmiliband.bsky.social directly: How will the outcomes of #cop29 benefit residents in places like Happisburgh, who have to deal with the everyday realities of living along Europe's fastest eroding coastline?

🚌 Buses when people want them, to places they need to be. It shouldn't be too much to ask for! Travel to Norwich alone simply isn't good enough for many North Norfolk residents. I'm fighting for a proper rural bus network that will let people get around easily & frequently.
