For the record, trillions were lost, panic gripped Wall Street., Main Street and the globe and all we got were phone calls. And we’re left with high tariffs that are still forecast to reduce growth and boost inflation. Doesn’t seem much like victory to me.

It’s not clear how much avg tariff rates really declined from the prior 30%. Seeing estimates they dropped only 2 or 3 points, to 10 to 15. Bottom estimate is still high. Economists having trouble figuring out the new rules. Maybe market got hoodwinked. Maybe it surged on optimism of more cuts.
