Love this art and love this sentiment ❀️

A little bit of good news at NSF. πŸ§ͺ

Think the economy is bad now? Just wait until these cuts hurt local communities all around the country. "Bottom line: the proposed NIH and NSF cuts alone would eventually strip at least $10 billion per year from U.S. output." www.forbes.com/sites/johndr... #saveNSF #news #science #research

Thanks to their wide distribution*, many of us know and love the graceful barn owl, with her heart shaped face and honey-colored flight feathers. πŸ¦‰ *The barn owls (genus Tyto) are the most widely distributed genus of owls in the world. #sciart #birdart #owl #barnowl #watercolor #art #originalart

Limpkins used to be a rare site in Florida, and completely absent in the rest of the United States. Then came the invasive apple snails, and now this delightful bird can be found all over the place! #birdart #sciart #birds #wadingbirds #wildlife #limpkin #watercolor #mixedmedia #originalart #art

This is a great piece to share with your non-science friends and family to explain why all Americans should defend NSF right now. #supportscience #defendnsf

The eastern woodrat is one of my favorite rodents. They are considered ecosystem engineers, as they construct large dens called middens. They sometimes decorate their homes with shiny objects! ✨same girl, same✨ #sciart #originalart #tradart #watercolor #ratart #wildlife #Neotoma #rodentart #art

Corvids are my favorite birds and also look at the way this artist captured the structural pigmentation of the feathers! Incredibly lovely <3

No brigadier throughout the year So civic as the jay. A neighbor and a warrior too, With shrill felicity -- Emily Dickinson This was the first painting I made when I decided to try watercolors for the first time a couple of years ago. #mixedmedia #watercolor #art #bluejay

I tried to capture a moment of spring her in the SE US in this one. Inspired by watching a flock of Cedar Waxwings descend on mulberry trees filled with ripe and ripening berries. #gouache #watercolor #orginalart #sciart #bird #nativeplants #wildlife #natureart

Science is for everyone and when everyone is involved it makes science better. Please take action, we need to stand up to this. An easy way to do that is here: www.ams.org/government/g...

This is an excellent community to get involved with!

This is an absolute disaster. If we don't stop this, they will turn NSF into a pawn of the Trump administration. There will be no research on climate, biodiversity, or anything that isn't eugenics or AI or how to more efficiently destroy the planet for profit. This cannot be allowed to happen.
