Thank you @bonedocph.bsky.social , @helenvmadamba.bsky.social and @natrese.bsky.social for participating tonight! Have a great weekend! #healthxph

When i advise to patients with infection the importance of HYDRATION, that antibiotics are not enough... i tell them antibiotics is like soap to kill the germs, but you need enough water to rinse the germs away... #HealthXPH

T3. I can explain it via neurotransmitters, in the most simplified visualization, most understandable explanation, and explaining that psychiatric conditions are mostly biological, and that they are treatable. #healthxph

Let's do t3! (Quote tweet and add #healthxph to participate!)

In obstetrics, the birth plan needs to be explained to the patient from the outset, even on the first consult. Patients and their families need to know what to do, who to call and where to go in case of emergencies. This delay can spell the difference between life and death. #HealthXPH

T2."Psychiatrists deal with problems stemming from mental health issues, and we take care of a whole range of people, from children to the elderly and in between.During a psych consultation, we do an interview to help us diagnose and manage what you are going through. It's a partnership." #healthxph

Can we get started on T2? I'd love to hear your thoughts... (Quote tweet and add #healthxph to your tweet to participate)

T1. In Psychiatry, it is almost always the part about how going to a psychiatrist doesn't necessarily equate with "going crazy", or that taking Psych meds does not make you "dependent". This is oft-misinterpreted and/or stigmatized. #healthxph

I'm going to start with Q1, feel free to join in whenever! #healthxph (Quote tweet, and then add #healthxph to participate)

Hi @jrmong.bsky.social @jeromecleofas.bsky.social @natrese.bsky.social! Are you online? #healthxph

Who is online? :-) #healthxph

Good evening, everyone! This is Stephanie from #Dumaguete City moderating the tweetchat for tonight. Stepping in for @endocrinewitch.bsky.social ! How are you? #healthxph

Doing CBT for sleep and attention, will do more research today

T3. The best defense is to stay clean, and have a reliable set of loyal and clean friends. Make people think twice of besmirching your good name... Maybe keep a lower profile - public figures are more prone to public attack. And think twice about being political about anything. #healthxph

Thank you everyone for this very good discussion. I truly appreciate your thoughts on this... everyone can be a potential victim to vicious smears. Let's all be vigilant, and mind our communications and posts! Thank you, and a lovely evening to all! #healthxph

I really appreciate your inputs on this topic tonight. We've got 3 minutes left in the discussion... Please do share some parting tips and words. Thank you! #healthxph

Usually through Facebook. Objectively speaking, socmed gave people the power over those who are "untouchables" before, us healthcare workers included. But yes, how to contextualize the online complaints is challenging. #healthxph

T3. Ego management is essential - as professionals, it can be tempting to try to "fight fire with gasoline" - but this is a losing proposition IMO. Defend. Disengage. Wait them out. If they are truly suffering from something... they could implode anyway. But I never wish them that. #healthxph

T3. My late father had advice I always took to heart: be nice to people on the way up, because you will see them on the way down too. Keeping on the good sides of people can shield you somewhat. eventually. Also keep records and receipts to defend yourself in case you are attacked. #healthxph

T3. IMO defamation is not a "normal" behavior - any time I encounter someone like this, I usually suspect some mental health or personality disorder (e.g. narcissism, histrionics, borderline, sociopathy, etc.). Unfortunately IMO there is no negotiating with such people. #healthxph

T3. I'd say building a positive brand on social media, and avoiding to post self-incriminating posts will definitely go a long way. Every post matters, really. Every photo and caption. It is even better foresight to think that everything you do type out into "the void" comes back #healthxph

T2. Mostly on social media. Doctor shaming still happens though I think less often than before in the early days of social media. I always advise setting down “positive digital footprints.” #healthxph

T3. Communicating well so as to avoid misunderstanding is best. Actively listening, being honest and respectful, goes a long way. #healthxph

I've been meaning to go to the meat of this discussion on T3. Let's go? Up next! :-) #healthxph

I've had some good memories of Skype. Although i've shifted since to more "modern" forms, the screenshots I took of face to face conversations with special people in my life will always be a fond memory.

T2. As they say, word flies fast. For some reasons, fingers on a keyboard and "word of mouth" claims are equally speedy in defamation. If one is not careful, one's services (or even persona) as a healthcare worker can be up for intense scrutiny, and subsequent smearing. #healthxph

T2 is up next! #healthxph

Defamation can be by word of mouth and group talks, but most evidently, on social media and the internet, we see this the most these days. I agree with @endocrinewitch.bsky.social #healthxph
