So, the richest man in the world who spent $250 million to elect Trump wants to take away social programs that benefit seniors, children, the middle class, and the poor in order to further enrich himself? Is that the plot? Did I get that right?

About to hit the treadmill and then the hot tub to finish off a long week. What are you doing for your self care today?

Blueskyroast.com is way too much fun.

Not for nothing: Just as folks have long parsed the theologies of Christian conservatives to understand major influences on the GOP/Trump, folks are likely gonna start parsing a lot of big tech ideology for the same reason. Plus, they’re becoming one in the same: religionnews.com/2024/12/03/h...

Five very long days after coming back from ATL to find our old water heater busted, the Fearing family is the proud owner of a new tankless heater!

“Dammit, autocorrect, I really AM trying to type Orpah and not Oprah!” Writing sermons on Ruth in the 21st century can be so frustrating!

Has anyone yet submitted going to Costco during the month of December as the next event in the Winter Olympics? Asking for a friend…

For the life of me, I do not understand people’s obsession with Christmas poinsettias. I’ve been pastoring churches for more than a decade and I still don’t understand the hype. Is it a boomer thing? Is it just because they’re green and red? Is there any liturgical significance at all?

Question: What does this millennial parent do to self-regulate his anger at the ridiculousness of school being cancelled over a freaking dusting of snow in North Carolina? Answer: Introduce my toddlers to Less Than Jake in the car ride to take them to work with me.

Weird conversation in a family w/ a pastor: Mom to kids: “Do y’all want to go see the Christmas lights after Daddy’s funeral on Saturday?” Dad: “Ummmm….honey, say that sentence again.” Mom: “Do y’all want to go see the Christmas lights after…..the funeral Daddy has to do?” Dad: “There you go!”

My experience pastoring three separatists churches over 10+ years: it’s both. And it’s important to acknowledge that, free of judgment, in order to move forward into the future

Dang it, I slept right through it!

So I just discovered this song for the first time (I know, as usual, I’m 10 years late), but it totally hits. Love the “Journey” vibes with the opening piano riff. My only critique is that the song begs for a key change that never happens.

First Sunday of Advent complete. Caught up on emails and such after being away from the office for a week. And now the gauntlet of December begins….

I had this crazy dream last night that the UGA-Tech game went into 7 OTs. Weird. Also, an absolutely delightful morning for the toddlers to wake us up with ABSOLUTELY NO CHILL at 5:27 AM

Love God wholly. Love your neighbor as yourself. Love each other. GO and spread the love. That's Christ's message. Also good for the world.

#UGA has been so very slow in the first quarter this whole season. Come on, #Dawgs.

An Ole’ Fashioned for clean, ole’ fashioned hate night. #GoDawgs

I’m religious. I believe in the Holy Trinity.

With many thanks to my brother-in-law Sawyer for doing the heavy lifting! #ThanksgivingBrisket

Now we play….the waiting game…

Trimming da meat…

Remember: in the gospels, Jesus got the most upset with those who use religion as a tool of oppression and self serving power. You don't see Jesus get upset with anyone for showing too much forgiveness, giving too much mercy, having too much generosity or loving others too much.
