Do your thing Tami. youtu.be/S6NcgB822_0?...

Rest of the world: Is Trump going to blow up the planet? Me: Who did the better version of "I Say A Little Prayer"? Aretha or Dionne?

Sorry Donnie.

Yes, I have 2 copies of the same book; "Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk." I think it's an essential, if not definitive, book of that era. 2 copies? One I bought almost 20 years ago. Another sent to me recently by one of the authors, Gillian McCain. Yup. Punk rock flex.

Local (local to me) heroes Horsebath get a very nice review in Pitchfork. pitchfork.com/reviews/albu...

Picked up Care by the criminally underrated Shriekback today. This is the Canadian pressing of the band's first full length from 1983. Track listing is a bit different from the UK release, so now I'll have to track that down. This is missing the original inner, so I'll be on the hunt for that.

You should know about what’s happening with the iconic Strata-East catalog. Also, you should know about an insightful panel next Tuesday β€”Β come join us!

I bought this album on May 23rd, 1987. How am I so certain of the date? Because I wrote the concert in my 1987 Much Music desk calendar, of course! I bought the album at the merch table. I think it was the Club Flamingo. I'm almost certain. The Gruesomes - Tyrants of Teen Trash OG Records. 1986.

Finally picked up the 2024 vinyl reissue. Of course I'll keep my CD version. What kind of question is that!?! Television s/t. 1992/2024. Capital Records

Unapologetic 5 stars across the board for the book, film and TV adaptation. Yes, there are flaws. I choose to recognize (and sometimes identify with) them and move on...yup. My β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… review of High Fidelity on Letterboxd boxd.it/8j03Rx

An under the radar album deserving more attention. Updated Southern roots. Gut punch music, beautifully recorded and produced. No surprise, as T-Bone Burnett was the Executive Producer. Adia Victoria - A Southern Gothic Atlantic Records, 2021

If Lenny Kaye had made a Nuggets breakfast cereal, this band would have eaten it every day. Nice crunchy garage rock. The Cynics - Blue Train Station Get Hip Recordings 1986/2020 reissue on blue vinyl.

The Sound - propaganda Demon Music Group, 1999/2020 reissue. Early recordings, pre "Jeopardy," from an extremely influential group. Recorded in the spring/summer of 1979. #vinylcommunity

I went because my girlfriend at the time really liked the first Madonna album. My β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜… review of Desperately Seeking Susan on Letterboxd boxd.it/7k3Afj

Duran Duran were always transparent with their influences, but I think this Roxy Music song really pinpointd their early sound. From 'Flesh and Blood' 1980. youtu.be/vXOgQN1a7bE?...

Rewatching New York Dolls: All Dolled Up. Because Danger is my middle name. Actually it's Ernest, but Danger has a certain je ne sais quoi. I'm not sure what any of this means. #newyorkdolls #protopunk #pleasekillme

Sharon Van Etten & the Attachment Theory Jagjaguwar 2025 Love this iteration of SVE. Post punk, dare I say Goth-adjacent? Dare I? Dare I not? Dare me to dare daren't dare de dare? Sorry. Excellent on the first spin. Early call, but I'm guessing a top 10 spot at year end for me. #vinylcommunity

Madness. Geffen 1983. North American only comp. #vinylcommunity

Freddie Hubbard - Super Blue. 1978. Columbia Records, but spiritually sounding like CTI. Mastered by the mighty Bernie Grundman and Bob Carboni.

First post! Art Tatum - Masterpieces 1973 comp on MCA.
