🚗💨 Zero‑Idling, Full Commitment! I’m disappointed we haven’t really been able to tackle this issue sufficiently in Edinburgh. I’ll keep pressing the Scottish Government to give us the necessary powers to drive the behavioural change we need. www.scotsman.com/news/transpo...

🚧 Heads up, Edinburgh drivers! The A720 City Bypass eastbound (Lothianburn → Straiton) will be closed overnight from June 23 to July 2 for resurfacing. Expect diversions & delays. Plan ahead! #EdinburghTraffic #A720Works www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/traffic...

It’s the last weekend of campaigning to elect Catriona Munro for Fountainbridge and Craiglockhart on Thursday. Fantastic response on the doors of Shandon 🙌

I had a wonderful evening last night at the Scottish Transport Awards in Glasgow. I was very proud to see awards for both the City of Edinburgh Council and Lothian Buses. Well done to everyone involved.

Had a great time at Bruntsfield Primary today talking with pupils about democracy, local government, and transport. Smart questions, big ideas — they’re already thinking like future leaders. Grateful for the warm welcome! 🗳️🏙️🚲

This is always a well organised and well attended event and I’m sure this year it’ll be no different. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/the-edi...

Sad to see Sarah Boyack MSP stepping down. A true friend, a wise voice, and a rock-solid colleague. Holyrood will feel the loss — she’ll be missed. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/long-se...

“On the tee representing the City of Edinburgh Council, Councillor Stephen Jenkinson”

This is fantastic news. Well done to everyone who has worked so hard to make this happen 🙌 theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2025/06/edin...

Independent investigation confirms political hatchet job. Missing emails and the leaking of confidential whistleblowing information will have made for uncomfortable reading for some members of the SNP yesterday let me tell you. theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2025/06/repo...

Great night at the Currie Beer & Curry Festival with @drscottarthurmp.bsky.social 🍛🍺 We sponsored a barrel — turns out Scott’s better at drinking it than pouring it 😂 Big love to everyone who helped raise money for great causes.

😳

"It's absolutely game on for next year. We've proven the pundits wrong, we've proven the pollsters wrong, we've proven the political commentators wrong, we've proven the bookies wrong.” www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politic...

🚶‍♀️🌿 Edinburgh’s LEZ is doing its job. “Road traffic is one of the main sources of harmful emissions,” said Cllr Jenkinson. With PCNs down, it’s clear people are adapting — changing habits, choosing cleaner travel, and protecting public health. road.cc/content/news...

Labour gain 🙌

It was lovely to spend time at the Balerno Gala today, I manged to: ✅️ Sit in a tractor 🚜 ✅️ Eat a haggis burrito 🌯 ✅️ Win 3 bananas at the Balerno Fairtrade stall 🍌 The Gala is one of the best things about Edinburgh South West, so well done to everyone who worked so hard to make it such a success. 👍

Heads up, Edinburgh 🚧 Road closures in place today for the Robbie Williams concert. Plan ahead if you’re travelling! “Let me entertain you” — just not in a traffic jam 🎤🚗 www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/robbie-...

Edinburgh’s LEZ is more than policy — it’s personal. As a dad to a daughter with chronic asthma, I’m grateful for cleaner air that helps her breathe easier. This is real progress. Let’s keep moving forward. 🌿 hellorayo.co.uk/greatest-hit...

Edinburgh will mark one year since enforcement of the LEZ began on Sunday (June 1). NHS Lothian and @asthmaandlung.org.uk have praised the benefits of the LEZ, particularly on air quality and health.

Visited the Winchburgh development recently — great to see real progress on the new station. A big step forward for both Winchburgh and Edinburgh in terms of connection and opportunity. Excited for what’s ahead. 🚉 theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2025/05/plan...

🌿 Taking Action in Balerno! Lots of residents have flagged the weed issue—so it was great to see the council out on Bridge Road this week, tackling it head-on. Progress like this matters. Let’s keep it going.

As if things weren’t bad enough for the Tories Sue Webber MSP has taken it upon herself to drive what little support they have left away with her anti road safety, pro congestion rhetoric. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/opinion...

Visited Biffa in Broxburn today to meet Marcin and the team and see how Edinburgh’s recyclable waste is processed. Impressive work happening behind the scenes to keep our city sustainable. ♻️👏

Rotten headline. What I am actually doing is starting a conversation with Glasgow and our surrounding local authorities to see what the appetite for road user charging is in Scotland’s central belt. We have no powers to implement any scheme at this time www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/edinbur...

This wasn’t an easy task but it was a necessary one. Now we have clarity we can focus on delivery. www.edinburgh.gov.uk/news/article...

I’m really looking forward to seeing this scheme up and running by August. Exciting times 🚴‍♂️ www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/edinbur...

Writing in today's Edinburgh Evening News, Transport and Environment Convener @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social discusses progress on the North Bridge, the imminent 'ToTo' system from Edinburgh Trams and prioritisation of the City Mobility Plan.

It hasn’t been without its challenges, especially replacing quite a few specialist vehicles, however by the end of this financial year the entire Council owned fleet will be LEZ compliant. theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2025/05/coun...

Me in the Edinburgh Evening News (fantastic paper) highlighting not only what I’ve been up to this month but also looking forward towards some key decisions my Transport & Environment Committee will be taking soon. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/opinion...

This is proving to be a very popular initiative. Getting the basics of running a city right is very important to me so I’m pleased we have been able to fund this street cleanliness prioritisation program in our budget again this year. www.edinburgh.gov.uk/news/article...

I think this will be a welcome and positive change that brings us in line with many other UK and European cities. I think it will be especially popular as we head into the summer months. 🌞 www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/cafes-p...

I’d like to see more black cabs on Edinburgh’s streets and I think there is a very good case for increasing friction in the market by tightening the regulatory environment for PHCs but I remain to be convinced a cap is the answer. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/edinbur...

I’m pleased that this project is continuing to progress at pace. Whichever vendor we choose this service will be delivered at no cost and no risk to the City 🚲 www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinbur...

I was dropping off some paperwork with a constituent in Balerno yesterday when I bumped into the “Pothole Killer” who was working on the street.

Sounds like a fun event 🏃‍♂️ www.scotsman.com/news/transpo...

Sorry to hear of Sir Tom’s passing. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times over the years. A lovely man who did an incredible amount of good for Edinburgh. He will be sadly missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. theedinburghreporter.co.uk/2025/05/sir-...

If your child has any difficulty gaining access to their revision material via Teams after resetting their password their school is open today (10:15-12:00) with staff on hand to help resolve any problems. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Difficult Full Council today as we mourn the loss of my good friend and colleague Cllr Val Walker. Rest in peace Val.

Tonight I attended the launch event of the Wester Hailes Community Climate Adaptation Plan. Fascinating insight into an important piece of work led by the community for the community.

18th of May is launch day! uk.news.yahoo.com/launch-date-...

Everyone knows I’m more of a football man but I’m really looking forward to watching Edinburgh play Bath this afternoon in the Challenge Cup semi-finals, what a beautiful day for it too☀️

I’m so lucky to have this wonderful pub in my ward. On a beautiful sunny day there is nowhere better to have a pint 🍺 www.scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/lifestyle/hi...

Anti Social Behaviour is a real concern on our buses. I recently wrote to the Scottish Government highlighting the issues Lothian have been facing so it is pleasing that some progress is now being made. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/john-sw...

It is important that we take a pragmatic approach to infrastructure delivery projects based on the financial reality of the situation we are in as a Council. www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/edinbur...

It was great to see the progress that has been made on North Bridge since my last visit. Even got to paint a little bit of it 🎨 www.scotsman.com/news/transpo...

Never let it be said I don’t work for a living!
