It’s very windy today. Bella keeps ringing her doggy doorbell, going out, and coming in again looking very sad. Too windy for a Newfoundland is about 7 on the Beaufort Scale.

Never thought I’d be sad about spring coming. But it’s just reminding me that I’ve been off work since the 17th Jan, and I feel sad. The garden centres have bedding plants. There are daffodils. There’s 10 hours of daylight.

Been up since 4:30. Have cleaned kitchen. And decorated the empire biscuits I baked yesterday. Just hanging around waiting for the gym to open. Down to 35mg pred this week. Really bored of this

A reminder in these hard times. #sciencestrong

Things I have learnt being off sick. Strength training can be done mindfully. Like yoga. But I find it more enjoyable

Due to the layoffs I am afraid that we have had to take over the running of the US National Parks. We are updating the park regulations but for now the most important thing people can do before visiting a national park is to marinade themselves for 12 hours in olive oil, lime juice & garlic.

"The Tooth Worm as Hell's Demon,” 18th century. The two halves open to reveal a scene about the infernal torments of a tooth worms, which people believed caused cavities. Complete with mini skulls, hellfire, and naked people wielding clubs.

I’ve had a blood test yesterday, and have a haematology appointment at 10:40 to find out the result. I think my anaemia must be better, as I did much more at the gym today compared to last Tuesday.

A day out in Cromarty

Not a decision I thought I’d make at 43: What day of the week shall I take my alandronic acid?

Given that I’m off work, I’ve been going to the gym, eating well and gardening: have managed to loose 1kg in 3 weeks. Not a big deal until I remember I’m on massive amounts of steroids. So loosing 1kg on 50mg pred is my new lifetime achievement

More AIHA news. A bit of a drop this week, so another week on 50mg pred. Have tidied the kitchen. Sleep still seems elusive.

My farmer neighbours has offered me a cart of well rotted manure

Today I went into the kitchen to empty the washing machine, got distracted and made a cake.

First day of hard work at our allotment. I pruned the bajeebus out of the fruit area, and Neil repaired our shed roof. #FiddlyPlot

So anaemia life has settled into a routine: Monday. Blood test day. Tuesday. Haematology phone appointment. Sadly timed to fit in with my clinic, before we realised I had to stop working Thursday. Experience new side effects of steroids.
