I don't generally follow football but, if I did, it seems like a good day to be a Plymouth Argyll fan. Go on you Janners!

This is infuriating. If the government want an easy win for growth and to support pubs, they should change the licensing laws to make noise complaints much harder. www.the-londoner.co.uk/noise-compla...

Now that Twitter is dead and TikTok is limited, maybe it’s a good opportunity, young persons, to leave your phones and throw parties that old people can’t gatecrash, to build a culture that political parties can’t colonise, and to enjoy new ideas that corporations can’t milk for cash.

This morning, I'm listening to a corker of a song by The Strokes from 2003, Reptilia:

Sunlit snow on Dartmoor this morning.

Frost, sun and interesting clouds. Looking towards Dartmoor.

This evening's listening:

Up to now, the system has been"depressing, unsustainable and stupid" www.theguardian.com/politics/202... www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Immensely instructive exchange in the commons this afternoon on COP/UK climate commitments - which reflects the now chasmic distance between Labour and the Conservatives on net zero Both parties digging in = no climate consensus + stark political dividing line

Word of the day is ‘sequaciousness’ (16th century): the slavish and reckless following of another person in matters of thought or opinion.

John Prescott's clear legacy on areas from the climate to devolution sometimes gets overlooked. @jamesmoules.bsky.social unpacks some of his important achievements in government here: labourlist.org/2024/11/labo...

Hello everyone. I am now on this platform for social media. Do please repost this message so that more people can find me!

Snow falling on Dartmoor (yesterday):

A memory (probably mid to late 1990s). Me on drums, at Walsall People's Festival, with my band at the tme: The Winchester Blues Band. Happy days.

Morning moon over Dartmoor.

After the beaver moon.

What are your three favourite albums pictured below?

Now listening to: The Lunatics Have Taken Over the Asylum by The Fun Boy 3

Fiery sky tonight (no filter):

Day 31: Robert Wyatt - Shipbuilding (1982, UK: 35 on 1983 re-release) Because protest songs don't have to be loud and strident. Plaintive and evocative, it stands as an encapsulation of a specific time in song. song.link/y/3HgtvQdwW8A #UncoolTwo50

Listening to Soldier Sildier by Spizzenergi. Superb bass bassline.

George Monbiot on Donald Trump: "Compassion is a foreign concept to him. There is no curiosity, no wonder, no kindness, no connection with the hearts of others, no lightness of spirit. In their place are ego, rage, resentment, impulsiveness and cruelty." www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Listening to one of my 90s favourites. Bring It On by Gomez:

Late evening view of Millers Brifge, Exeter. The illuminated disc depicts a Mill Stone associated with the old paper mill (now pub/restaurant, The Mill on the Exe)

www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Listening to an old cracker today. Babylon's Burning by The Ruts

Listening to an old friend:

Spotted these fungi this morning, Daldinia concentrica, also known as King Alfred's cakes

View of the Jurassic Coast taken from the English Channel on a recent trip.

On my morning walk:

Listening to an album that caught my attention in my 20s. Still feels fresh. Waiting for a Miracle by The Comsat Angels
