❗️BREAKING — The UK Ministry of Defence admits it is “currently training” Israeli military personnel in Britain. The Labour government has until now refused to answer questions about this, which we covered last year. 👉 www.declassifieduk.org/amid-lebanon...

There were 14 votes between Greens and Tories. And just 18 between Greens and Reform. As two old parties fade away, voting Green in many places keeps the likes of Reform out of power.

Huge by-election result for @stroudgreens.bsky.social last night turning a red seat green. Beating Tories by 14 votes, Reform by 18! This cements @greenparty.org.uk position who run the council.

Responding to the spending review, Green Party co-leader @adrianramsay.bsky.social, said he was “horrified” to see the real-term cuts to the Environment Department’s funding “just as the impact of climate change is starting to affect our communities”. www.lbc.co.uk/politics/uk-...

Labour has made political choices today that each and every one of us will feel as budgets are squeezed.

"People want to feel pride in Britain again, and for this, they need real hope. Hope only comes from seeing how things will improve through real investment in ... [our frontline] services." @adrianramsay.bsky.social / @greenparty.org.uk response to #SpendingReview greenparty.org.uk/2025/06/11/c...

How much social? How much council? That’s the question here. “Affordable” housing is often anything but!

Almost no mention of social care in Reeves’ speech—so disappointing. Fair pay for care workers and a boost to the NHS are welcome, but that alone will not repair the care sector. We need a fully funded social care system if we want to free up hospital beds and ensure dignity for all. #SpendingReview

Expensive nuclear power is the wrong decision for energy security - consumers will bear the cost with higher bills. Focus should be on renewables and proper funding of home insulation #SpendingReview

Chancellor talks about the awful legacy of Conservative austerity. But under this govt I am still seeing the same real terms cuts to school budgets & local health services & cruel cuts to support for disabled people. It is a political choice not to tax the wealthy fairly. #SpendingReview

This is designed to make it really hard for opposition parties/journalists to be able to actually look beyond the political spin and hold them to account in a timely matter.

We've just released a joint statement with some incredible NGOs and individuals calling on the Environment Minister to give a steer to the Environment Agency to update the testing and regulating regime of sewage sludge. Full statement here or read on in this 🧵 fightingdirty.org/open-stateme...

ICYMI, our Founding Director @georgemonbiot.bsky.social was on BBC 5 Live this morning talking about our open statement and why we need this Labour government to act! You can read more about this here bsky.app/profile/figh...

Proud to have joined some amazing people in signing this statement and calling on Labour to act now on this, frankly disgusting, issue.

Pre-bed I did a “Greatest 11” with my 8 year old (with 15 subs for some reason). What could be improved?

Incidentally, you have to read this skeet in voice of Jack Bauer.

When we all say "we need more houses", Greens mean houses normal people can afford while Labour mean whatever developers want to build for profit.

Study on London 20 mph limits shows: - collisions ⬇️ 35% - casualties ⬇️ 36% - fatal/serious injuries ⬇️ 34% - child casualties ⬇️ 46% - child deaths ⬇️ 75% - walkers, cyclists, motorcyclists killed/seriously injured ⬇️ 28% etsc.eu/20mph-limits...

Greens remain solidly in double figures as the era of 5 party politics looks set to stay.

Deputy leader of @greenparty.org.uk said: “Labour once again showing there’s nothing they won’t learn from Reform. Not only content to sell off nature to the highest bidder, only able to do so as they’ve utterly failed to defend environmental regulations." www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Liveable Neighbourhood has 'brought calm to our streets' www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol...

Plastic pollution isn't just about litter. It's also fuelling the climate crisis and destroying wildlife. That's why we need a Global Plastics Treaty that sets legally binding limits on single-use plastics. It's about using less, not just recycling more. Big oil doesn't want this. We demand it.

NEW ANALYSIS: UK's solar power surges 42% to a new record, after the sunniest spring on record * For the first time, solar was >10% of UK generation in consecutive months (April/May 2025) * In 2025, solar has already avoided gas imports that would've cost £600m www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-uks...

I’m delighted the govt is expanding eligibility for Free School Meals. This is something I campaigned hard for during the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill. Now govt needs to scrap the 2 child benefits cap.

Our politicians have failed people in Gaza >>> Gaza now worse than hell on earth, humanitarian chief tells BBC www.bbc.com/news/article...

...whilst 1.3 million people are on the waiting list for social housing. Time for government to restore our social housing, not help line the pockets of private landlords and developers.

I like this symbolic way Greens are responding to Reformin power www.northantstelegraph.co.uk/news/people/...

Interesting to see Labour sources saying they will do more on nature protection as Greens continue to point out how the planning and infrastructure bill fails to deliver social housing or nature safeguards. Quote from @adrianramsay.bsky.social 👇

Green MP dismisses Reform UK as ‘cynical opportunists’ in call to nationalise water sector www.politics.co.uk/parliament/g... Hat tip to the wonderful @elliechowns.bsky.social

“This Bill is dangerous, giving the green light for developers to pursue profit rather than meet the needs of people for homes and nature for protection." @adrianramsay.bsky.social on the Planning and Infrastructure Bill greenparty.org.uk/2025/06/04/g...

"The answer here is for the government to actually tackle inequality." @zackpolanski.bsky.social makes the case for proper investment in our public services, not more demonisation of migrants.

Would you settle on 2 with 2 minutes to go?

It’s the grudging respect of the footballing world for this performance. Like there is no mutual love for PSG but this performance is plucking at my heart strings

Anyone willing to bet how many more PSG will score in the last 20 minutes?

Pressure for a wealth tax is mounting - proud that Greens have been consistent in calling for this. But let’s be clear - this is just a headline and needs to be part of a much wider effort to make our tax system more fair www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
