Time to examine executive power open.substack.com/pub/lizterwi...

If Fani was focused on justice, she would have recused herself and allowed her case to continue. Instead, after the Ga. Supreme Court eventually ends the thing, she will not even have much of a vetted left.

Time to stock up

Or, more probably, the cost of reaching a location will be reflected in the postage cost. It does not cost the same to send a UPS package 20 miles vs 200 miles. Ideally, costs fall for some, rise for others.

Other than a couple countries, the entire civilized world is secretly delighted with Israel’s destruction of Assad’s chemical weapon stocks.

I am mostly happy with the blanket commutation of sentences of casual drug users. It would be even nicer if presidents did such actions when first elected, rather than four years later.

Three failures in one image; the head of Intel, the head of a country, and the doomed Chips Act.

From my hapless rep. The Pentagon has failed SEVEN AUDITS IN A ROW! Zero congressional action. Instead we see this smiling nonsense.

A very smart friend of mine posted this meme- we have all seen this stuff for years, always without documentation. After I questioned it, he did the research and discovered the meme is completely bogus. People are probably reading more, in many formats, today.

Merkel is in the news these days. While she did not single-handedly ruin Germany’s energy system (and contribute to their current economic crises) she was certainly a prime mover.

Handy pocket chart - useful for daily activities

While Putin was able to draw his shoulder pistol faster, Xi’s silencer likely costed precocious milli-seconds.

Ok, the pardon is a bad look, and Hunter is … not a great guy. But the law he was convicted of breaking is a BS law that should not carry prison penalties for anyone.

Movie review in the NYT have become increasingly off-base to me over the years. The Anatolia seem to confuse art and activism unattractivly. But rating Metropolis as a Years’s Best indicates that the paper needs to instill better drug testing procedures.

When the Civil Air Board was shut down, over 100 new airlines came into existence, safety records improved, and travel costs dropped. If we lose the Dept of Education, expect better test scores, better paid teachers, and happier low-income families.

I probably have subscribed to Business week for over 20 years and am at last canceling my subscription. It has gradually become an amazingly anti -business rag. It’s cheaper to just get Mother Jones. #business week

Getting this spam text reminded me that it was not uncommon for 20% or more of on-line reviews in China to be paid fakes. Now they want fake reviews for US consumers.

Wow! So Harris is now the president!

I worked with import products for years. Whenever the US thought that duties and tariffs would solve an import problem, it just shifted and grew bigger.

The only party with critical thinking is probably a cocktail party

I see that if we eliminated the Dept of Education, the value of the savings could give every teacher in the country a $74k raise.

That would be terrific

Cocktails being aged to enjoy when this supervillain is gone, and the day Lina Khan is escorted to the door.

I saw Bonhoeffer. Maybe don’t bother.

The defeat of one a party in the last election was not due to the votes of their opposition. GOP is well under 30% of voters, Dems slightly less. Unaffiliated voters did it. Can a party move the mainstream towards them, or if they will move towards the mainstream.

@phillybite.bsky.social one of the few members of the house with a basic knowledge of economics.

Among the 2 first accounts I followed were Nick Gillespie, and the Fortean Times. So, that’s where I’m at.
