Birds seem restless this morn. Pleased with only my 2nd #Localpatch Glaucous Gull S along the coast path. An ad Med Gull was in the Bathing House field, 44 Pinks S ( one crapped on my head!), 4 Golden Plover W, 4 Curlew S. Skylarks, Song Thrushes and Dunnocks singing. #Lowcarbonbirding #UKBirding

On this day in 1988 the first site Mediterranean Gull was recorded at Worsbrough Reservoir. I started birding around the same time and adopted this patch. An obsession with this species followed but I never did find my own there. Years pass and I still can't ignore BHG flocks! #Gulls #Birding

After disappearing for five days, the North American Bufflehead reappeared on the home patch of Hillwell here in Shetland. Lovely to see the winter sun bring out the 'oil sheen' of iridescence on the head. Still a novelty to watch it from the house! #BirdingScotland #ukbirding #RareBirdsUK #birds
