Cheer up. Mr. Spock would not have been so pessimistic. "There are always alternatives."- Mr. Spock(2267)

All three of them were atheists. If only they had claimed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Just kidding.

There is no connection other than perhaps what people create their imaginations.

Nothing to choose between them.

I don't pretend to understand many of Trump's choices. Manafort was a leaker and a pretender. Trump hates both, so🤔. Criticism between him and his detractors goes overboard both ways. They fight each other even on areas of agreement. I can't explain that either. It's chaos. Time to be a watcher.

This episode did not use the holodeck. Nevertheless, it was unpopular.

Sounds like we have the same background information. Manifort was fired from the Trump campaign when his criminal involvement was revealed. I may disagree with some Republicans' judgment on Ukraine, but that is not the same thing as thinking they are in the tank for Putin.

The series ends with an underlying theme of Star Trek, empathy WHEN IT IS HARD. How many times does the crew of the Enterprise learn their adversary is not evil, but in pain? That kind of compassion is how we achieve the social progress we admire about the Star Trek universe.

A head-scratcher of this episode was that there appeared to be no female Starship captains in Star Trek's vision of the 22nd century. More bewildering was that a person with gender dysphoria and self-destructive mental health issues had gotten that far in life without getting the help she needed.

This is a great way to characterize ST vs SW.

Turnabout Intruder has a lot to offer if you see it as a story about trauma, how it causes us to alienate those who may be inclined to agree with us, and how that undermines our own best efforts to realize the social advancements we all admire about the Star Trek universe.

Except that isn't actually happening.

Unless the Trump administration starts telling organizations what to say, or blocks ideas on the internet, this is not an infringement on free speech. On the other hand, no one can control the QUALITY of speech, but the person we see in the mirror.

Keep watching. They may just be expediting him. DeSantis said they're looking into the charges. If there's enough evidence to charge him, he will.

Can I be an ally and still think DEI programs have gone too far? As a person, I am an ally. Institutionally, it gets to be counterproductive and inherently diminishes the accomplishments of people who don't "fit the mold" so to speak.

True. Remembering other people are so busy thinking about themselves that they're not thinking about you that much takes some of the pressure off and makes that easier.

If you think there is an equivalence between what you just described and anything going on in the United States right now, then words aren't the problem. Yes I think people need to be more precise with their words. But that's just me.

That word "Nazi" is associated with a brutality and unspeakable cruelty that most of us can't even imagine. Why do we keep cheapening it by using it this way?

And there we have it. Next up? Taiwan. What are we doing to make sure that doesn't happen?
