Tonight I'm texting Nancy Pelosi and asking HER for $5

Janet Jackson once showed her covered up nipple on live tv and lost her entire career.* *(And it was really Justin who did it)

motivational, self-esteem building

We are posting this placard at all of our offices and asking our union contract farms to post as well. We encourage our friends to put up similar placards at their business as immigration agents do not have the right to go on private property without permission.

Once again, I ask the "everything is going to be ok" crowd to consider that the alarmists might have been right all along.

About to start a week with 8 other authors (nonfiction) for an editing retreat on Madeline Island, WI. So grateful to be out of the heat in Texas, courtesy of the GLOAT (Lake Superior).

The Darwin Awards made me believe that irretrievable morons accidentally removed themselves from the gene pool far more frequently

we're living through one of the greatest technological revolutions in the history of mankind and it's not AI

Rewatched terminator 2 last night. Fun movie about AI leading to nuclear war and how the easiest way to kill someone is to dress up like a cop. Can't say its themes resonate today.

Sometimes I imagine a world in which we use our enormous resources to ensure everyone thrives instead of using it to kill and maim millions of people.

Today’s tomato sandwich uses a monster Dr Wyche’s Golden tomato on toasted sourdough with mesclun from the garden, half an avocado and some fried Spam. Deeeeelicious.

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come—and how much further we still have to go. It marks the moment freedom finally reached our people right here in Texas. Our people took what was withheld and built something powerful: resilience, pride, and a legacy we carry to this day. (1/2)

CARTOON OF THE DAY (From @dccartoonist.bsky.social ) #Juneteenth

Always, not just for #juneteenth, this exceptional work of Texas history is American history, family history is American history, Black history is American history!

Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) Mayor Ras Baraka (D-Newark) Judge Hannah Dugan (WI) Controller Brad Lander (D-NYC) This is not normal. This is not okay. We cannot let them convince us that this is normal or okay.

It feels weird to me that we're supposed to call our representatives to be like: "Hey can we not initiate another forever war?" You'd think they'd be able to handle that one without a ton of input.

not sure if this is in the current bluesky consciousness, but the Nuclear Block is what makes this place great. a block ends everything between you and the blocked person. it robs them if all engagement. it’s very much why the troll problem here is much more limited than the everything app.

Tammy Duckworth BARELY holds back her naked (justified) contempt in this clapback and the whole thing is 🤌🏼

One month apart.

Back on my bullshit* *fried green tomatoes with roulade for dipping

If I worked for Penguin I would try to figure out a way to make custom meme covers of Penguin Classics.

The common trend in the arrests of Sen Padilla, or Comptroller Lander, or Marcos Leao, or any other US citizen, is that they are immediately released. The admin knows they have no legal standing. They know a legal challenge would create a bright line bar. It’s about the chilling effect. Full stop.

You’re resting and watching network TV I’m texting with my (adult) child & the Lesbian House of gaybies I raised from preteens, about which country from which I’d pull the most lesbians. We are not the same. 🧡🤍🩷

AI is very useful if you want to know what its like to ask the dumbest person you can find to google something for you and then treat their answer like the word of god
