Also I finally finished Rebirth this week and I have a lot of thoughts I’m still sorting through, but it was definitely my 2024 GOTY. 10/10. I wonder where they’ll take things in part three, but for now, I’m along for whatever ride they wanna take us on.

I’m wondering if they’ll do for Air what they did for Kanon and make the Japanese eShop version multilingual using the Steam version’s translation.

I’m so excited. I figured with Kanon’s Steam release last year, it was a matter of time, but this is still great. In a month, Air, Never7, and a new port of Ever17 will be available in English, on top of us getting Kanon, Tsukihime, and Fate/Stay Night last year. 2009 me would’ve never believed it.

Rebirth has been an absolute joy you guys. Last night I reached the Gold Saucer date and got Barret and it was a delight. I’ve been streaming the latter half of the game and everyone seemed to enjoy the Gold Saucer sequence. In the OG game, Barret was a gag choice, but I like how here (1/2)

I’m currently reading through the “Traces of Two Pasts” novel while playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and…the amount of backstory and expansion on the characters and world is fantastic. Not just Tifa and Aerith, but Cloud and others as well. Definitely worth a read.

I missed the announcement until now, but Prototype has released a patch for the Japanese version of Kanon on Switch. You can now play it in English or Simplified Chinese. Make sure your game is updated to the most recent version, then select 環境設定 from the title screen, then go over to テキスト1.

You know, Abyss does have its 20th anniversary next year…a new port at least would be fantastic!

I have so much nostalgia for this game. But I swear it came out in ‘97. I remember it being advertised in the first Mixx Zine (fall of ‘97). And I remember playing it over the same winter break as FF7. Either way, I thought was a fantastic adaptation, even with the changes to the plotline.

Just seeing this and I am beyond excited. This was my first full visual novel that I played (thanks to the guys from Hirameki at Otakon who unanimously suggested it when I asked). It may not have been perfect, but it set the bar high for everything I played after, warts and all. It made me a fan.
