80 years ago, on the 4th of February 1945, the Yalta conference started, in which Roosevelt, Stalin and Churchill met to discuss the future of Germany and Europe after the impending defeat of Nazi Germany.

Our local @rspbscotland.bsky.social hide is The Loons in Birsay. A lovely, peaceful spot to spend an hour or so. No sign of the bittern that’s been lurking, but there were whooper swans, gadwall, moorhens, coots, ravens and a grey heron.
