When making music, don't try to please other people. If other people like your music, great, but it's not worth altering your vision to capture their approval. Instead of aiming for the imagined expectations of your peers or audience, you should try to make music that pleases streaming algorithms.

I respect aleatoric music because it doesn't need constant help to become composed. It just gets on with making itself music. It doesn't require endless support or handouts and when aleatoric music is successful, it got there by pulling itself up by the bootstraps. And I think that's pretty cool.

I refuse to believe in the possibility of non-diagetic music in movies. Anytime you hear music in a film, at least one of the characters is listening to it, or maybe even making it using a keyboard-workstation or something off screen.

Music derives its market value (quality) from how few people have heard it. Music that has never been heard by anyone is highly sought after and commands a high price. But as soon as one person, even its maker, hears it, depreciation begins and after 1000 or so listeners, it is basically worthless.
