Council agrees to write off i360’s £51m debt

As a parent of four daughters, it saddens me that they have a considerably less optimistic future than mine. My generation is calling them out for wanting no more than we had.

“Privatisation promised efficiency but led to declining services and higher costs. No wonder the public now favours renationalisation”

We don't defeat populists by calling out their lies. We tried that. Facts are complicated, and the audience for populism wants simplicity. It won't work. We defeat populists by enacting bold political ideas that improve lives for the disenfranchised, and make the world seem less grotesquely unfair.

“Brexit made the UK an early victim of this reactionary politics which, instead of making this country great again, has already made it poorer and lonelier. Who knows what further damage may be awaiting our younger generations.”

You are being forced to give Thames Water an extra £500m a year in April. It's supposed to be for fixing the Water Infrastructure. But the will steal it all.

Thames Water intentionally diverted millions of pounds pledged for environmental clean-ups towards other costs including bonuses and dividends www.theguardian.com/business/202...

A ran into an acquaintance recently, mentioned that I'd gone to bluesky, he said "that woke network, someone got banned for saying there's only two genders, not going near it". I've not had, nor seen, not want any gender discussions, odd that that's his only take from the outside.

Be sure to help those in need at Christmas — and if you're feeling extra festive, maybe dismantle the systems that create and perpetuate poverty.

It is with enormous sadness that I have resigned from my role as president of the RSPCA . I would like to register my respect and admiration for all the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to protect animals from cruelty . Thank you . www.thetimes.com/uk/environme...

With huge sadness I’m resigning as Vice President of RSPCA, a role I’ve held with pride for over 15 years. But their Assured Schemes risk misleading the public & legitimising cruelty. I tried with @ChrisGPackham to persuade the leadership to act but sadly failed www.thetimes.com/article/100c...

Bosnia has a higher pension than the UK. Bosnia!

When social media sites tell you moderation has limits I want you to know there was a time when you could only find the worst people on obscure forums created for being offensive because everywhere else moderated them into those corners.

Surely the house building workforce has evolved to supply the demand, so when someone drops in a giant order, the spike can't be supported in a short time frame. Very short sighted by the gov, I expected it to be far better.

Reform's angle on renationalising Thames Water is simple, they wouldn't do it, but they can make themselves look good by pretending they would.

Nick Candy, the billionaire property developer, is now in charge of Reform’s finances. Now people will see Farage’s “man of the people” act for what it is – a sham www.theneweuropean.co.uk/nick-candy-m...

New study shows majority of people who voted to leave EU would now accept return to free movement in exchange for access to the single market & similar support for a reciprocal youth mobility scheme. So when will the government catch up? @europeanmovement.co.uk www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

“My 2023 open letter to the BBC about Question Time, read by more than 300,000 people in 144 countries, was widely reported in the media. It even informed questions posed to the BBC’s director general Tim Davie at a parliamentary select committee.”

Why Britain’s doctors are in revolt To save the NHS money, the General Medical Council has been pushing the use of physician associates in place of qualified doctors—and putting patients at risk. A must read from @doctoroxford.bsky.social www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/pol...

Seemed like academies were only incentivised so another private body could be given public funds. Tories gave more money to them than local authorities to force schools to join. Schools won't get more money soon, someone up top will be pocketing it. It needs to stop. This is necessary.

The Media won't acknowledge this video of the farmers blocking an ambulance with its blue lights on so could you could RT it so people see it?

Starmer makes a point often missed about ending freedom of movement. Migration figures were lower when we were in the EU. Because Europeans could live, work, study in the UK for as long as they wanted - and then leave. Now, migrants are more likely to move permanently. #PMQs

Sold.

Boris Johnson is a disgusting man who uses any excuse for his appalling behaviour.

Cost for a heart transplant in the USA. When private Healthcare comes to the UK, are you going bankrupt? Or are you dying?

Left: Romania has canceled the results of an election after they declassify intelligence to show Russian interference Right: Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak all refused to investigate Russian interference in Brexit because all four of them used Brexit to become PM

Do these really rich people justify the self centered horror they inflicted on others as "the strongest survive"? If you're not rich enough to survive, you were too weak to not get rich enough.
