I see it. I have lived it. 83 years ago, the U.S. government turned upon a group of its own citizens and residents and sent them to internment camps without due process. I was there among them. American fascism is back. It is here. It is now.

I can't emphasize enough that the most important thing journalists can do right now is publish exactly this kind of article

DOGE is a criminal conspiracy to defraud the people of the United States

This is so accurate. We millennials grew up amidst CONSTANT Columbine-level trauma. Nothing scares us anymore. 😎😑

When's the next protest?

Never fails

This would also be VERY unconstitutional. Not that they care about the Constitution, but the rest of us should.

A much-needed moment of calm 🐺

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines. When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

This should be obvious!

BREAKING: 60 Minutes just exposed the lie. Over 75% of those deported to El Salvador’s mega-prison are innocent. No crimes. No charges. No justice. This is manufactured fear and state-sanctioned abuse. www.thedailybeast.com/60-minutes-c...

Where is our humanity?

This year's summer reading list is out!

Follow the money and see where it goes. Elon Musk was just awarded a $5.9 billion taxpayer-funded SpaceX contract by Trump—the largest in a new package of space deals. Trump ensured Musk got the money, fully aware he’s facing “steep personal cost.”

Senator Jim Banks (R) isn’t sorry he told a fired federal worker “he probably deserved it”. He went on to say the worker was “complaining about losing a left-wing woke job in the federal government that should have never been a job to begin with”. The job was helping people with disabilities.

Every day I wake up to the news

100%!

👍

I'm listening to an 11 hr clip on YouTube of this speech, slowly, while commuting to work. Dude talked for 25 hrs. I feel the least I can do is listen to some of it. He goes into testimonials from UCLA, NIH, Rutgers, regarding how Trump's actions are putting a freeze on grad student applications.

A federal judge barred the CIA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence from firing intelligence officers who had been assigned to D.E.I. roles eliminated by the Trump administration, ruling that they should be given the opportunity to seek reassignment to other open positions.

This is perfect. Either we all have rights or none of us do.

I really don't know what else to say anymore.

@ernestounionista.bsky.social makes a good point.

*deep breath* genAI is bad whether you're a corporation cutting out artists or an individual making dumb memes, and it's incredibly naïve to think that everyday social acceptance doesn't play a role in these corporations furthering their shitty practices

The thing is, if this were only about the deficit, they aren't going to find $35 trillion in savings. And with cutting the IRS and CFPB, how are they going to even balance the budget (what budget? We're still in a CR!) when they ALSO SLASH REVENUE? Idiots.

used to not have toilets, shade or drinking water cause bosses said it was too expensive. With pesticides we would work too close to the spray. Thanks to Cesar Chavez they changed those things. Join us in marching for Cesar Chávez - Francisco, CA farmworker, 28 yrs #WeFeedYou

HUD concluded a Texas state agency had steered $1B in disaster funding away from Houston and nearby communities of color after Hurricane Harvey. On Jan. 15, HUD referred the case to the DOJ. On Feb. 13, it rescinded that referral with no explanation.
