I loved this series

Today’s Sapphic Book Bake comes to you from Southern California, less than 10 miles from Paramount IYKYK. I celebrate this book from Ana K Wrenn, The Wilding of Em’s Path.

Sometimes I bake something I’ve never heard of, by request. This is one of those. I’d never heard of bean pie and it sounded very unappealing. Navy beans? In a pie? Now it’s one an office fave “You have got to be the only one in the world that can make a bean pie taste good.” High praise indeed!

Danish, croissant feuilletée & brioche feuilletée (my new favorite brioche dough), sausage pocket pies in puff pastry, & sausage roll.That’s it! FIN!

Today the students made soufflés and crepe cake. Crepe cakes: Dark chocolate hazelnut with frangelico, strawberry, and passion fruit. Soufflés: Lemon soufflé with raspberry coulis, vanilla with grand marnier, and chocolate with raspberry sauce.

Dacquoise: A meringue based dessert. Here we have pistachio with raspberry and lemon cream, which is my favorite French dessert, also dark chocolate hazelnut, strawberry with pineapple. The “leftover” pic is Gateau St. Honoré (puff pastry, choux, and vanilla pastry cream)

My colleague has a thing for purple. And I mean a *thing*. So in honor of her birthday, a purple velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. And do not come at me with the way she cut the cake. It’s her party and she can freaky-cut if she wants to.

French baking class today because nothing comes between our students and macarons! So…. Here we have our flavors: passion fruit, raspberry, chocolate with mocha ganache, pistachio, and coffee. I heard I can sell them for €2-3 per macaron. New career everyone!!

Easter bakes! Esposa and I made the cherry cheese filled pastry, and I threw together tried and true apricot orange cream scones and lemon blueberry scones.

I am absolutely escaping the 💩 show of this current reality to get my hands on this in June (or earlier if I have my way)! Get this from the author of “The Lily and the Crown” and “Truth and Measure”. Also I will bake whatever the F she wants.
