2nd flight to Sal (Cape Verde) in 3 days. It is by far our longest flight at around 4 hours each way, and requires SATCOM for the short oceanic part. Some interesting clouds over the Atlantic. Tenerife. Approaching the coast south of Porto.

Years ago during my medical, after I did the hearing test my AME commented: „you’re flying the 737, right? Increased hearing loss on your left side where you usually have your headset off.“ And that was true, you keep the ear to your colleague off to be able to hear them.

My last flight of this block, to Zürich and back. Since our flight time was longer than the planned block time, we arrived a few minutes late, but will be likely on time when we come back. 8.5t for 2:25 flight time. Climbing into the sunrise. Descending into the Alps.

Last day of flying myself for at least a week. Today to Zürich and back. In an aircraft that I flew fresh out of delivery nearly 10 years ago in a different airline. First livery of the aircraft. (📸 Mikko Mertanen). Avoiding a Cb. Sunset colors.

Today is a long and in Porto stormy day. First flight was quite nice though, to Nantes in 1:20 with 6.5t of block fuel in our 10 year old A320 CEO. Approaching the French coast. Some construction in a large off shore wind farm.

A nice and early flight to Basel and back. My FO wanted to challenge himself and wanted to fly back into very gusty winds during landing, I managed a nice approach with everything off out of FL 100. So all in all a nice day. Although some mountain waves were interesting.

Climbing into the rising sun on our way to Paris Orly. Now preparing the flight back to Porto, in a nearly 8 year old A320CEO. We take 6.6t of fuel for a flight time of 1:45h, which means were off work at 11:35. and then I can enjoy my 3 off days.

Well, my standby was over very soon after it started at 3:30, got called to fly to Lyon and back. There’s quite a bit of new snow in the Pyrenees. Sadly we have to wait some time for a slot, now on a remote stand. Todays ride is a very old A320CEO at nearly 13 years old.

Early flight to Luxembourg and back today, sunrise right after climbing out of the clouds, a great view on Paris and a cold and rainy Luxembourg. Flight time was planned at 2:10h, in an 8 year old A320CEO, we needed a block fuel of 7,5t.

Last day of my working block, and the first time this year I had to get my passport out for my first intercontinental flight. Another NEO, flight time to Marrakech is 1:25h, fuel a bit higher than needed at 5t. And a slot for 50 minutes delay.
