Post match write up from me on last night's bore-fest - www.suburbangooners.com/2025/02/27/n...

The thing that is making me really lean in to the “I just want the season to be over” narrative is that there’s no sign of change in attack in the immediate future. Saka and Martinelli not due to be back until beginning of April. So we have a whole other month of this.

This is really bad, I know, but I’m kinda glad Arsenal aren’t playing this weekend.

Season was thrown away by the club in not investing in the attacking areas.

Horrible in the final third. Wretched game. Please let’s just end the season now.

What the fuck was that from Sterling? Got in behind and then just fell over???

See Šeško scored tonight.

Why is Sterling man marking their big centre forward??

I just want to fast forward to the end of the season at this point.

How the friar tuck did Odegaard miss that? I know it wouldn’t have counted, but, come on man. You have to bury that.

Painful to watch our failings once again look so obvious. And once again, we’re all thinking about January and we’re all thinking about last summer.

Good recovery from Saliba there. Thankfully.

Trossard has been a bit, well, shit. Hasn’t he?

It's tough to square Ryan Yates not getting a yellow card for pulling back and running over Martin Ødegaard from behind with Riccardo Calafiori's yellow card in the first half.

Literally his first involvement is to foul Ødegaard.

That Yates is a dirty f*cker. Expecting him to leave one or two in on players.

Forest are proper route one, aren’t they?

Not a bad ball from KT there.

Ødegaard’s flick balls starting to grate on me, ngl

Makes sense to have KT coming on for Calafiori - he was being done a few times in the first half and especially on a yellow too - with our record this season you just knew Cala would be off with a red by the end of the game

As expected, a pretty turgid first half, Calafiori shot off the post aside. But we have nothing in our front three. Bit depressing. We’ve actually played alright other than in the final third.

That was lovely from Nwaneri - so good with his balance to turn defenders.

Merino wins the ball cleanly. Free kick Forest. 🤔

How is that a foul by Jorginho there? Ref looking to blow it as soon as a Forest player gets touched.

Feels like we are a ‘score first’ side right now. Felt like that at the weekend and for a while.

Referee giving any tiny touch on wood in his favour

That deserved a goal from Calafiori. What a strike. So unlucky to hit the inside of the post.

Hudson-Odou was looking for that. No chance that’s a pen.

That’s not a handball in a million years

Feel like the boy is telling me “mate, don’t watch that shit, let me help you by getting in the way of that iPad…”

This performance has been pathetic.

Let’s see how Merino does from the start. Hopefully this works. I wonder if he drops in at times, rather than being a ‘big fella up top’

Getcha Gooner! New issue out today - we’ve got an exclusive interview with the legendary @martinkeown5 in our new edition 🔴⚪️ Getcha @GoonerFanzine here at Arsenal vs West Ham

United are bloody terrible. It’s a delight.

This is 100% spot on and the mentality we all need. The fact we are still in with a shout of the league, the injuries, the need to keep Liverpool looking over their shoulder - if you’re in the ground you have a role to play. Block Five footsoldier reporting for duty 🫡

This quote from Arteta is quite telling I think (on Merino up top): "Starting a game is very different, especially against a team with the ability to play in different ways with very different behaviours within different structures that they can use as well, and that's what we have prepared for"

Some thoughts on the decisions Arteta has to make today on team selection against West Ham - www.suburbangooners.com/2025/02/22/i...

Dunno how I feel about that draw. PSV is a bit boring - played them loads of times. Then it’s probably the hardest game of the lot in the quarters. Tough ol’ draw. But guess they all are at this stage

Some initial thoughts looking at West Ham and what their fans are saying ahead of tomorrow's game - www.suburbangooners.com/2025/02/21/w...

Seconded.
