Years ago I started adding tulips to our borders in colour drifts. Each year I add more, working on the combinations to complement the plants around them. Think this year is our best yet...

Ooooh, all getting quite tense in the potting shed....

One for the #maths geeks here.... Am making some 6 sided #stainedglass lamps and need a way to easily find the angle between two panels. Soon realised it's way more complex than I expected. Found this link online, but the app doesn't work. Anyone fancy creating one??? www.tistis.nl/lampshade/fo...

Ah. His feet are much bigger than yours now :-)

..if you're wondering what Tomato 'Amethyst Jewel' looks like, here it is. Looks gorgeous, tastes gorgeous too :-)

This is what it's been about all along. He loves the grovelling, the complete humiliation of others, even allies. It's Pharaonic behaviour - capricious, despotic and pitiless, in order to feed his insatiable desire for self-aggrandisement and absolute power. #Trump.

I thought Thursday might be the point to put a bit of money into a US stocks tracker fund. Didn't quite get round to it. Thought about it Friday, didn't get round to it. Thought about it this morning again...

A small selection of the plants in our woodland garden in flower at the moment.

Gorgeous light in the woodland garden this evening... Some close-ups coming up if you want to know what's what...

Anyway, my anxious visitor got me thinking. Some people conclude that I am a contented soul because I work with #plants, and if they did so too, they'd be happier. Ah no, I know how to be contented with what little I gain, in material terms, from working with plants, that's the real secret :-).

Quite right, they are a vital part of our pest control system!

Very busy first week at @bluebellcottage.bsky.social, lots of very happy customers :-). Funny story though... woman came in late on Sat. desperate to buy plants for a shady area, gushingly enthusiastic about our advice/plants etc.. On leaving, after paying said 'as for all that #peatfree nonsense'>

This is quite some forecast for early April in Manchester, England...

And we're off :-)

It's only right the Primroses should be looking so good on John Donne's day. The poet-priest's style was a bit unrefined for some, like Ben Jonson, of all people. George Herbert's beautiful mother, Magdalen, adored him, and he her, and they may even have had a bit of a thing...

Is it safe to come out yet?
