Fab thread from the seminar which was brilliant. In awe of @georgejulian.bsky.social. ♥️

Introducing the #DigitalLifeline project website! digitallifeline.org Here you can find out everything you need to know about the project (so far!), our partners, and team, and how to contact us about the research.

We're now at the exciting stage of piloting the #DigitalLifeline survey with help from a self-advocacy group in Greater Manchester. We had some great feedback and ideas to enhance the survey further before it goes live!

The #DigitalLifeline project considers the outcomes of the Government's COVID-19 #DigitalLifelineFund by learning more about people with #LearningDisabilities ' experiences of using tablets they were given during the pandemic. The website is now live with lots more information about the research:

We’re really pleased to have our @digitallifeline.bsky.social website up and running now

19th Feb, 2025: #GeorgeJulian, known for her live reporting of coronial inquests, will talk about her work over the last decade, and some thoughts about how we can work together to continue to highlight the injustices faced by #LearningDisabled and #autistic people. #AutRes #EduSky #AcademicSky

We're so pleased Naomi is joining us in the new year. A tiny group that is growing.

Had a fantastic and busy few days at the Seattle Club conference in London. Brilliantly organised by Deborah Chinn and colleagues at KCL - with a very welcome greater emphasis on inclusive research. Feeling very fortunate to work with this community of fabulous people #SeattleClub24 #SeattleClub

The next talk in our session on mental health at medication at #seattleclub is with PhD student Danielle Adams from the University of Warwick. Her talk looks at pharmacists' perspectives on de-prescribing psychotropic medicines in people with intellectual disabilities.

Kicking off the second day of #seattleclub with a key note talk by Professor Jan Walmsley from the Open University on inclusive research with people with intellectual disabilities. She did a whistle stop tour of the history of inclusive research and the work she has done with people with ID.

@francescaribenfors.bsky.social starts our final session on families and social care at #seattleclub. She is talking about her research exploring families’ experiences of inquests when their family member who died was autistic, had learning disabilities and/or mental ill health.

Large thanks to @thesiswhisperer.bsky.social for writing about www.connectedpapers.com as part of a post about managing notes and references. Useful and fun

We had our first @digitallifeline.bsky.social advisory group meeting this afternoon and I can’t express strongly enough how great it is to have a fantastic group of people advising a research project!

Stolen Lives motion unanimously passed in the Senedd. Thank you to Hefin David MS, Sioned Williams MS and Mark Isherwood MS. At last, the inhumane hospitalisation of people with learning disabilities and autistic people has been recognised by the WG as the human rights injustice that it is.

In case you missed it! Please join us (in-person or online) this Wednesday, 11th December, for our next research group seminar:

Short intro video I made to support the kick off of the #DigitalLifeline project - very exciting! I made the presentation in PowerPoint and then used the video and audio recording functions in there to add the narration and save as a video. Easy and relatively quick to do so would recommend!
