Something is shifting. They are still breaking things and stealing things. And they will keep trying to break and to steal. But the propaganda magic around the oligarchical coup is fading. (1/2)

So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

How does firing Americans help make America great again? Cutting 5-8% of the workers is unproductive and harmful to our economy and society. This is just simply reckless and unsustainable. www.cnn.com/2025/02/21/p...

🚨BREAKING: Federal Court GRANTS sweeping nationwide injunction against Trump DEI executive orders finding that they violate First and Fifth Amendments to the Constitution. A huge victory for @democracyforward.org and its clients. A stinging loss for Trump. Visit www.democracydocket.com for details.

I will use every tool at my disposal to protect this country from Trump. I will litigate to defend voting rights until there are no cases left to bring. I will speak out against authoritarianism until my last breath. I will not back down. I will not bow or scrape. I will never obey.

Elon Musk recently posted on his site that another lawyer and I are “undermining civilization.” He goes on to ask if we suffered childhood trauma and concludes by suggesting we are suffering from “generational trauma.” This is my response. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/my-o...

BREAKING NEW YORK (AP) — The Associated Press sues three Trump administration officials over access to presidential events, citing First Amendment.

Really American 👇 BREAKING: In a stunning moment of defiance, Maine's Governor Janet Mills stands up to Trump, saying she is complying with state and federal (anti-discrimination) law, and will see him in court over his threat to withhold federal funds. This is incredible.👏👏👏😎💥

The governor of Maine is a 77-year-old in the middle of her second term in office and therefore ineligible to run for a third. But King Trump here tries to intimidate her by saying she'll have no future career in politics if she dares to stand up to him. I think she's all good, man.

BRAVO to Maine Governor Janet Mills for slapping petty tyrant trump in the face with her calmly defiant "see you in court." THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE. 🔥🔥🔥

Governor Janet Mills wasn't having Trump's bullshit today at the White House. youtu.be/yEmXfX_4hgo?...

“So Elon Musk killed this program for disabled kids (illegally) because it included the word ‘transition.’ It helps them to transition from high school to work.” H/T @palafo.bsky.social, who posted the above on another platform.

This is kind of huge. Pancreatic Cancer is one of the most insidiously aggressive diseases. My mother died 11d after being diagnosed.

In case there was any doubt

Today’s cover of the Murdoch-owned New York Post

Holy crap. At his town hall last night, Rep. Rich McCormick compared *his own constituents* who asked him tough and fair questions to January 6 insurrectionists

Saturday Feb. 22, at 2:00 pm here in D.C. at the Lincoln Memorial, there's a rally for Ukraine, organized by United Help Ukraine, Razom for Ukraine, and others. Trump may have switched sides. America needn't. unitedhelpukraine.org/events/3-yea...

Jesus

When I see Steve Bannon doing a Nazi salute to cheers it means only one thing: 420,000 U.S. troops died defending our country from Nazi assholes and 77 million people voted for them to be in power. MAGA betrayed our country voting for this nightmare.

Okay, so, how do we stop this shit? Where's the fucking press to ask Republicans how they feel about this?

this is sad, man. saddest part is, y'all have been warned this exact thing would happen for ten years.

If you are experiencing rage and despair about what is happening in America and the world right now because of the Trump-Vance-Musk regime, you are hardly alone. But a groundswell of opposition is growing. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/ten-reasons-for-optimism

Is anyone surprised? We knew the bans would have these results. #USDemocracy www.propublica.org/article/texa...

“I thought we were supposed to be in a new era of meritocracy. Not the indiscriminate firing of people,” said one Republican congressional aide granted anonymity to speak candidly. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

I don't think the Dems can stop the firings. But why aren't they proposing legislation that assures those that took the buyout get paid , and that all that are fired, get at least a year severance and health benefits? And any one with a health condition is covered the entire time they are sick?

Extraordinary story the Wall Street Journal. X is threatening advertisers that if they don’t spend more, Elon Musk will use his influence in government to block company mergers. That’s extortion.

Putting pressure on the current administration seems to have impact. Let’s keep it up. #ProudBlue #DemsUnited #DemVoice1 www.latimes.com/california/s...

A new @reuters.com poll finds Americans have a dim view of many of the Trump administration's blizzard of executive actions, including the Jan. 6 pardons and his effort to limit birthright citizenship. But they *really* don't like the Gulf of America thing. www.reuters.com/world/us/ame...

Breaking news: 57 percent of Americans say President Donald Trump has exceeded his authority since taking office for his second term, according to a new Washington Post-Ipsos poll.

Jeez, I wonder why an organization that has people living undercover in hundreds of countries around the world would want to recruit “diverse” individuals? The stupidity is breathtaking. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/20/u...
