As a historian of eugenics, I can tell you that the "taxes" thing is straight up from sterilization eugenics. Not only that, it represents an even more extreme form of early 20thC. eugenics that I study: euthanasia eugenics. They are tax burdens therefore they shouldn't exist. 1/2

Good point. It may also explain the campaign against Jacinda Ardern in part at least. When covid hit, she took decisive action and we saw for a brief moment how much things could shift if govt really leaned into it. Then everyone got scared and went back to business as usual as fast as they could.
