I wondered why Arsenal struggle when opposition press man to man, take Villa and Newcastle, often loose control and games become end to end, I’ve put it down to two main reasons:

What risks, is taking smart punts on players? We need competition for LW could we have gotten someone at a reasonable price to compete with Martinelli yes we could.

The issue wasn’t Jan but in the summer. Went into a new season with: -No reliable CF backup -Only attacking Midfielder in Odegaard -And no improvement in midfield or the forward line No transfer is risk free and risks needed to be had taken. Poor Management all around

Watched the Milan-Roma albeit in bits, no one stood out except for Chukwueze unfortunately suffered what looks like an hamstring injury. Commentators said Fofana had a good game but I didn’t really see much of him whenever I was watching. Just became a sludge fest at the end.

Cuhna looks good, energetic, a dynamic dribbler, definitely passes the eye test. Although over performing his xg though, that corner was 0.00xg, I wonder what the rest of his stats say.

Amorim needs to drop his back three formation, can’t control the midfield just doesn’t have the right players to make the formation work.

City struggling with the press and backpedaling and struggling to break Villa’s block

Got the receipts, Merino is just bang average

Like the look at the lineup. Let’s see what Merino can do. Merino needs to prove to Arteta he’s a starter.

in England he's 100% sent off isn't he

Not seen much of Merino yet

Rice-Merino-Odegaard three is exciting.

Don’t like this lineup. Arteta needs to trust Merino and start him. And frequently changing who’s playing LW is not great. Suggests a mistrust of Trossard and Martinelli

Feel with Rice and Partey we are playing with two 6’s rather than one 6 and one 8. Partey deep-lying playmaker attributes is a trade off from control and tempo we might need which probably Merino brings. Not sure how much value Partey deep playing attributes actually improves the team

Statement win

What a half and such a perfect archetypal corner set-piece goal to finish

Rice-Partey 😬😬😬. Don’t really like that pivot. Much want to see Rice-Merino hopefully

I feel most teams will be so error prone against Liverpool and that will be how Liverpool will win a lot of their games

City are struggling to get something out from their midfield. Gundogan not a technical player as such and Rico Lewis too inexperienced. Attacking quality isn’t simply good enough too. My thinking is Pep will go 4-3-3 next week against Liverpool and reinforce the mid with KDB-B.Silva

Good game, great to have Odegaard back

I wonder how BlueSky will be now the Premier League is back on

One thing I like about Blue Sky, is a lack of a trending list. Gives you what you want to say without incentivising a trend. People can post much more organically

X/Twitter user base still skewers liberal/left but it’s engagement and promotional content is broken

My first post, I hope BlueSky isn’t a carbon copy of X/Twitter, what’s different about it?
