Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

in the "not my problem" department

the weird part is how sam altman is boasting how the shitty ghibli ripoffs are using up so much compute time lots of societal benefit there sam real impressive use case

Slowly, slowly, Democratic Senators are waking up and coming out of the Costco egg aisle.

My latest piece, written for the Kettering Foundation. I urge organizations, nonprofits, and companies to end the cycle of over compliance with Trump threats, and show how doing so ushers in fascism. Some lessons from what we have seen in the trans community. kettering.org/do-not-compl...

Foreign Friends with Travel Plans to the U.S. for Conventions: A bit back I said you should maybe reconsider those plans. I would like to amend my prior statement. Cancel them. Cancel them now. We cannot keep you safe from our own government. Take your holiday in Spain or something.

I'm at the constitutional crisis / I'm at the collapsing economy / I'm at the ccccccombination constitutional crisis and collapsing economy

A senator wakes up, at last.

The remedy for this blatantly unconstitutional attitude - that they can do whatever they want to Abrego Garcia - is for senators to stand up and be senators and judges to stand up and be judges. And for us to keep insisting on it. Trump wants you to think they’re powerless but they’re not.

Harvard, today, doesn’t suck ❤️ www.nytimes.com/2025/04/14/u...

Joseph Baio left Wilkie Barr when they got all brown-nosey with 47. www.reuters.com/legal/govern... But they have a more prominent partner from whom I've heard nothing. Have you heard how he has responded? www.willkie.com/professional...

Save the penguins @heardislandgov.bsky.social

harvard doesn't suck (today)

Perhaps other members of NATO could declare Article 5 on our behalf.

“give him back or we will blow you into the kuiper belt” is all i want to hear from dems

I had been doubtful that we were going to have a "this is the crisis moment" with Trump, as opposed to "everything about this is a destructive catastrophe." But the Abrego Garcia case is the crisis moment. 1/

Autism is not a disease

If I were trying to undermine the credibility of women astronauts and had a billion dollars to blow, I'm struggling to think what I would do differently than today's Blue Origin launch.

Imagine not knowing until just now that Maher was trash www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Otherwise known as Fuck Around & Find Out. Trump had no plan for this trade war. And we will all pay the price for his incompetence & corruption.

It’s been lost in the tariff news but the fact that the U.S. government can accuse you of a crime and send you to an El Salvadoran prison without trial, is legitimately scarier than the most hyperbolic claims of fascism made by the left during the election.

Save the penguins!

Stand up fight back 🏳️‍🌈

goodbye

"purposely and falsely labeled 6,100 living immigrants as dead" but go ahead, Dems, confirm those appointees www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Just now?

Just an incredible statement to say to directly to a judge off the cuff. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/11/n...

Every day that goes by makes me happier to be a Xoogler. At least the coffee was good.

The courts have been clear: They have to bring him back. They’re now blowing the courts off. We need to continually remind ourselves: This isn’t just about this one guy. If they get away with deporting him with no due process & then refuse to bring him back, they can do the same to citizens.

Pitiful.

Trump is now approaching $1B in free legal services he’s extorted from law firms he threatens with unconstitutional sanctions. The firms with the guts to fight have been winning. Yet some major law firms continue to bow down. It’s shameful & an abdication of their oath to uphold the rule of law.

Oh, the way I just cackled reading this. #uspoli
