Bad day at the office for Dorgu today. He’ll learn from it and of course it’s an adjustment. But 3 game ban will hurt and create the issues we were struggling with for the wing backs. Unsure if it applies in the fa cup or not but he will be fresh for the Europa games. 🤦‍♂️

I’m not convinced that a goalkeeper was on the summer transfer plans but Onana might be on a mission to change that…

Brilliant blog by The Swiss Ramble. United would have £120m higher if they were making top 4 & £37m lower costs without the debt repayments. Losing £100m per year is clearly more due to 1st team performances but debt is clearly an issue. https://buff.ly/4hM2qOq

Between high earners half way out the door and players whose contract is up, I think we’re heading towards the most transformative summers in a decade. Antony/Casemiro roll off PSR calculations after 30th June. Expect transfers from 1st July.

There are no short cuts and no quick fixes. We need to go through this pain in order to change the profile of the squad to one that can withstand the demands of the premier league. Our finances preclude us from the kind of quick fix City have done.

Saw a lot of grief for Garnacho for the Spurs game and not passing to Dorgu. It’s very early in their playing together. I wouldn’t read much into it, other than Garnacho is on a journey to improve. What I did observe was they were running into the same spaces.

Fundamentally with no ability for transfers before the summer, I can say that I doubt things will improve. We have to accept it. Amorim could improve it but not the way he wants to play. So we can predict it’ll be much like it has been. Focus has to be on the summer.

I really like Zirkzee. I’m not sure it is fair to judge him in this season. He could still not be a fit for us and still be a very good player. For such a big guy, he’s got good with his feet and links up so well. He’s just not a no 9. Thought he was decent against Spurs.

The downside of having Bruno in midfield is he’s so much further away from the goal. He is by a country mile our best creator. I understand why Amorim has persevered with him in midfield. Energy, work rate & ability to progress the ball. But he’s been nullified by being so deep.

Didn’t want the game live (date night with my wife) but watching it back, despite the performance I felt United could still have won it. There were enough chances & actually, outside of the goal, I didn’t feel Spurs were that good. Can’t believe we’ve lost 3 times to them.🤦‍♂️

I said it last week at the end of the Leicester game. But there is an inevitability about United, regardless of manager or players, we can chase a game like very few others. Attacking into the Stratford End is a fucking super power. Note for recreating this in the new stadium.

Seen some say they’ve checked out, not bothering to watch games as there is nothing to play for. I get it. It’s not the best football. And I respect their opinion. But I’ll watch every single one. I don’t know another way to support my club. We’re in it together till the end.

Seems we’ve a few injuries. Amad and Ugarte are the big two to lose but it’s an opportunity for others and I refuse to be downbeat and negative….there is enough of that, that I don’t need to add to it. Plenty of young players have made their name in similar circumstances.

My concern for the summer is everyone we’ve been linked with has a price tag of 60m… € or £. I do think we’ll have more leeway (Europe depending) than last summer (Antony/Casemiro summer falls off the 3yr PSR). But I’m not sure we can afford 60m per player.

We could get Big Ange sacked. They’re having a worse season than us. We’re 5 points clear of them yet they have beaten us twice this season. With 9 days between Leicester and Spurs games, no excuse of not enough time for training. Expectation is for a performance and a win.

United sound like they will be in for a striker in the summer. I hope they get someone who is experienced. Osimhen is the stand out. I have felt that the player might be high maintenance but there are so few top top No 9’s that I think you have to go after him.

It was rumoured that Garnacho would be sold & perhaps still might in the summer. Felt his 2nd half showed everything about him. High energy. He is in the tradition of past United wingers & gets people off their seat. But still prone to poor decisions. He’s young & can learn.

Sad to say that I think Sancho was possibly the worst scouting by United (it’s a toss up with Antony tbh) and understanding of a player. He’s has the weakest mentality I can think of for a professional athlete. He’ll never hit the heights that was expected.

I’m pleased to see Harry Maguire get some love from United fans. The criticism he got was over the top. He’s been a good servant of United. Always gives his best and fronts up to media and takes responsibility. Unlike idiots like Sancho who phone it in, Maguire is a warrior.

Project 21 does sound unrealistic right now. But what’s the alternative? Journos mocking it are the same ones who criticise ownership and lack of ambition. Pleased to see a Project 1 and some thought and planning for the women’s team.

Fulham’s a tough draw. But tough teams still in the FA Cup. Forest, Bournemouth, Brighton and Newcastle so no easy game.

Pleased Antony is doing well at Betis. Shows perhaps he’s not the player we saw at United and might make it easier to move him on.

I have no issue with Project 21. United have been accused of not being ambitious and setting this out as an objective can pull people together and give them a purpose. But it clearly needs to be backed up by performances, improvements and shrewd squad building.

I don’t care what manager, players or era we’re in. There is an inevitability about United. Few better chasing a game, at the death.

Funny, as soon as we up the regency, the tempo and started to run at players….we get a goal. Garnacho injected a much needed bit of energy. For all those who wanted him sold, this underlines his capability and talent. Still young and raw. But bags of potential.

I remember from a podcast with Rene Meulenstein, mentioning that United looked to play with pace, power and penetration. Instead we have Pitiful, Passive & Pedestrian. I can’t comprehend how slow the team pass the ball and rarely look to get in behind. It can only get better.

Surprised Dorgu is on the right. I know he played a lot this season as a right winger. But still thought he’d play more on the left.

I’m kinda surprised there hasn’t been any moves by Ineos to sponsor United. I’m sure the premier league check fair market value. They’re shirt sponsors for Nice. I would have thought that would be an easy way to bring in a boost in revenue and its pocket change for Ineos.

My personal view is keeping Ten Hag lost Ineos a lot of credit & it’ll be hard to get it back. I’ve no doubt they know they made a mistake and regret it. But it’ll be brought up for the next few years. Not possible to not make mistakes tho. It’s human nature & to be expected.

Love this. 🔴⚪️⚫️

One of the things I’m trying to do with my 7yr old is team him about the history of the club and so he knows not just what has happened, but the adversity and ultimately revival of the club and the role certain people like Jimmy Murphy played. #FlowersOfManchester 🌹🫶🏽🇾🇪

Lest we forget. We loved you then; we love you now. Great short video from United. https://buff.ly/4hMhaMR #FlowersOfManchester 🌹🫶🏽🇾🇪

Despite outgoings on loan, United still have players to shift in the summer still to create the room on PSR. Casemiro, Rashford are the key two but Malacia & Antony with Eriksen and Lindelof both leaving for free.

United made £660m last year. As I saw someone ask, how are we not swimming in £ notes? It’s called gross incompetence of epic proportions. That’s how you lose £100m per year rack up credit card debts to panic buy players with no planning that didn’t work & were never going to.

Not sure why United are shitting the bed so much at OT. Under ETH, 1st season we got top 3 on the back of OT being a fortress but we struggled away from home. Maybe there is nothing to read into and we’re just that bad. 🤷‍♂️. Answers on a postcard.

Malacia loan with the salary covered and an option to buy of €10 million and a 30% sell on clause….great deal for United. Hope the lad does well. He’s a good professional and always gave his best.

Panic buying got United into this mess. Casemiro, Antony just two examples. I’m not sure Tel was the answer. United have been mocked for short term decisions with no plan and no strategy and we’ve been bent over on transfer fees by other clubs. No more.

Fully expect we will have a lot more PSR room this summer. We’ll have 3 free transfers leave the club. Rashford is highly likely and at £40m will feel a bargain for Villa. Hopefully Casemiro and Antony will move on. Casemiro’s salary alone can fund a big purchase.

Yesterday everyone lost their shit at not signing Tel. Today we find out Spurs are paying €12m for 5 months which would equate to a £50m summer signing and the number of posts I’ve seen saying “fair enough then”. Ineos aren’t going to bet our summer for any price possible.

Fans judge ambition on immediacy, decisive action. Have Ineos failed? Is it too soon to judge? Businesses work in 3 year and 5 year cycles. Planning takes time, formulation and execution of strategies also takes time. Need to break a few eggs to make an omelette
