Very pleased Bruno is staying as I was sure he was gone! Beyond his ability, he provides much needed experience and leadership which cannot be overstated. Feel with Mbeumo though, Bruno will be in midfield far more and we need to find a better midfield balance imo.

Maybe next year would be a central CB to replace Maguire and an elite midfieder. Wingback maybe? Age profile of the team is quite good. Only Maguire, Casemiro and Bruno are over 30. Can see next year us moving to signing 2-3 players rather than the 4-5 we have been doing.

Downside is next transfer needs sales first. Don’t think we buy a midfielder unless Bruno leaves. Expect Casemiro to see out his contract. Not completely convinced on the midfield balance between any combo l. If we buy a 4th player, it’ll be a keeper unless Bruno goes.

Cunha and Mbeumo will bring out the best in Zirkzee. I’m convinced of it. I would much rather we focus on midfield next.

And just like that we get the Ornstein nod on Mbeumo. Don’t think this rebuild is going too badly so far. First Cunha and now Mbeumo. Window been open 2 days. I’ve never been as down on Ineos. Some mistakes, sure, but really Hope to see more positivity & optimism after this.

If Bruno went, I’d be more tempted to splash it all out on Wharton-no idea though what that does for Kobbie long term which would be my only concern. Do think it would be a statement. Would be happier to do that than buy a striker. Zirkzee would excel either way Cunha/Mbeumo.

If Bruno did go. I’ve no idea who would be captain. Maybe Maguire but I think he could go at the end of next season. Then we’re into Casemiro? Dalot? 🤯 Not many options & very few who have been at United for any length of time. 🤷‍♂️ Quite a worrying thought if Bruno left!

Random thought. If United didn’t know Bruno was contemplating leaving, then why have they started to look at Mbeumo. That transfer would necessitate Bruno playing in the pivot & I don’t believe that’s really the plan. Definitely feel there is a very good chance of Bruno going.

In no way do I want Bruno to leave. No one is irreplaceable but he’s shown he’s one of the few (or only) player of proper quality and the character to match. But if United are going to entertain it, they shouldn’t accept a penny less than £150m. Even then I’d rather say no ta.

Will be unhappy if Bruno goes. When we lacked leaders, he fronted up and carried the team. He owes us nothing & appreciate Saudi offer can be transformative for him. But he should be able to finish his career with us. But feels like this will only end one way. £80m is not enough.

Brilliant day at the cricket. Can’t beat a day of good sport, good company and a beer or two. W Indies have it all to do!

Also feel signing Mbeumo and Cunha and playing Zirkzee just ahead, will bring out the best in Zirkzee. Provides willing runners around him. If we went all out for Mbeumo, I’d rather we focused on midfield next. Striker market will open up.

Feel Delap choosing Chelsea just over champions league is limited thinking. I’m clearly biased. A lot of negativity around United but I’m optimistic. Football leadership at United is still new. Expect better profile of players. New stadium is a sign of ambition. We can do better.

Appreciate all the support I got from fellow Reds. My son is almost fully recovered from his operation and my father finally been discharged after almost 2 weeks. Been a tough couple of weeks and that’s without even thinking of United! 😂🤦‍♂️ Day off tomorrow at the cricket!

Only just seen the footage of the incident in Liverpool. Absolutely shocking. Can’t comprehend the malfunction a person has to even contemplate doing this when families are out to enjoy themselves. Just shocking. Thoughts are with those affected.

Rebuild is now a 5 year process unless we start increasing academy sales….or we drastically increase commercial revenue. Maybe the cost cutting will give us the leeway to spend £200m every summer despite no European games. But unlikely. Next season will be another struggle.

What feels clear to me is Amorim has put himself under huge pressure next season. The first ten games….if it’s like the last 10… the media pressure will be severe Then we’re where we were this season. A win would have bought more time and more forgiveness. No tolerance now.

The summer transfer window was already going to be interesting but United having to do it on a shoe string makes it even more so. 1 game a week feels like no excuse not to perform well in the league. Ineos need to sponsor United’s training kit. £100m a year….

Personally felt Amorim got the line up wrong. Bruno deep ultimately was the wrong call. Understood Mount / Amad. Amad faded in 2nd half. Probably needed to make more decisive changes earlier in the 2nd half. Ultimately Spurs defended better than we attack. Go figure.

Very hard to not see the Europa League loss in financial terms such was the potential boost and the dire nature of United’s finances. The scale of the turn around needed was already huge but it just got bigger. Felt Amorim got some big calls wrong. We’ll pay for that.

Only way to increase PSR spending besides academy sales and commercial income will be to clear debt. Also unlikely. Long road back for United now. Can get away with smaller squad. 1 game a week should mean top 6 minimum. But huge huge improvement needed makes it unlikely also.

Not interested in analysing the game. We did enough to get a goal imo but took too long to get going. What passion and pressure we had, we didn’t turn into chances. All credit to spurs, they defended well but created very little. Poor goal to decide a final. United 4/10 tbh.

Yoro has really grown into the game. Bodes well for the future. Not much of a consolation.

Feel United have created enough to have at least a goal. Need that goal!

Really surprised Amorim hasn’t made any changes.

United not got going in this 2nd half. Can’t string 2 passes together (unless it’s to a centre back). Very careless. An injection of something is required to kickstart this.

My overriding thought is it gets nervy defending a one goal lead in a final. This ain’t over.

Poor goal to concede. Bad time to concede it. Bruno poor. He’s not an 8. Would prefer Mainoo alongside Casemiro. Means Amad to RWB or take him or Mount off so Bruno can play in the 10. No real clear cut chances. Team have 15 min before Amorim makes changes. Zirkzee / Garnacho.

Need replay but feels like an Onana error.

Good passage of play from United. Need to make it count. Casemiro & Mount playing well. Porro seeing too much of the ball for my liking. Progression is a problem. Need a Yoro striding forward or a pinged pass into a forward. 🤷‍♂️

United inviting pressure. A goal is coming for Spurs I fear.

🔴⚪️⚫️ 2-1. 🤞 Expect United to make it difficult for themselves! 🤦‍♂️ Hope United can do it. 🙏 Big game. Big players. 💪👊

Not sure what lead I would be happy with. United really struggled to defend 2 goal leads and controlling games. Nerves starting to set in. Not been nervous all day. Come on United! Bring it home!

Think passages of play where Ugarte has given the ball away will have been the deciding factor. He’s absolutely given his all. V good OOP, but in possession can be quite inconsistent. Diallo/Mount will bring intensity. Hopefully Shaw has enough match sharpness. Stronger bench.

Finals aren’t normal games. 3 losses to Spurs means nothing. Feel United have players for big games and big moments. Maguire, Casemiro & Bruno. I don’t want to feel arrogant. Of course United could lose. But I feel this team in difficult moments is capable of special things.

Feeling confident and positive. I’m sure nerves will set in when the game kicks off. United will never make it easy so I don’t expect a smooth 2-0 win. And United aren’t good enough to make a win that comfortable. Even the 4-1 win against Bilbao for 70 minutes wasn’t!

Seen some ridiculous Bruno takes. Bruno posts de Bruyne’s numbers in one of the worst teams in half a century. He ALWAYS fronts up. He NEVER shirks. He puts in unbelievable shifts, covering for others & is always available. Journos would love him if he played for L’pool / City

Don’t often post personal stuff. Been a tricky time…wife needs open heart surgery, due in the next 2 months. My father has been in hospital since Wednesday although is finally on the mend and my son is having surgery right now. Grateful for family and support of friends. 🙏

Knowing how bad United have been this season, makes the summer transfer window all the more intriguing. How on earth will Wilcox & Vivell work enough magic through this squad to at least make it a top 6-8 side?! The turnaround required is immense & the level of change needed…

Chelsea have really turned the screw since the goal. United struggling to put anything coherent together. No complaints over the result. United struggle to progress the ball, struggle to pass, struggle to hold the ball up… Roll on Wednesday…still have faith…Bilbao or bust 🙏

United been solid if unspectacular but worthy of a point…then goes to sleep at the back post. 🤦‍♂️

Chelsea fans are classless for booing Mount. Won the champions league…Chelsea wanted to sell, gave him a shitty contract offer and when he left, they got good money for him. 🤷‍♂️

Definitely think United have improved under Amorim. With a centre forward, I think we’d have some better results. Sadly, while solid defensively, there is not much of a creative spark outside of Bruno. That little bit of magic is missing & play can feel cumbersome + sluggish.

Feel for Højlund. Hasn’t been working for a while. Can’t fault effort or desire but sadly that isn’t enough. Would love to know what he’s been working on in training. The unfortunate thing is he looked like he had a lot of raw capabilities last season…now not so much. Regressed

United lost a bit of that control. Not giving away big chances but momentum has shifted and United struggling to construct consecutive passes to a team mate.
