i don’t think game journalists should have to be internet personalities to survive tbh. good writing isn’t just entertainment, it’s boring stuff like “gets on the phone to fact check something” and “knows where to look for Weird stuff” and “has a personality marginalized people feel safe talking to”

Needless to say I will no longer be contributing to Giant Bomb. Nothing but love to all the wonderful people from there and GameSpot. Jeff was a workhorse and a hero for the way he shouldered so much responsibility there, and I am furious with the way execs treated him. We aren’t going anywhere.

How does Games Journalism survive? Genuinely? Can somebody please answer that question? Do we all just become independent? What does this look like in the future? Holy shit

Well, that was a dream come true. Knew it wouldn't last, though. Out of a job at the moment. But I'll always be doing patreon.com/gamemess

Getting a job in games media seemed almost unattainable when I broke in back in 2005. In the years since, it’s become almost impossible and ultimately inadvisable. I can’t imagine trying to break in today. Independent is pretty much the only option now. Support your favorite creators directly.

If you want your favorite outlets, podcasters, or content creators to continue doing what they’re doing, support them, whether through monthly subscriptions, membership options, or simply by turning off AdBlock. We live in the golden age of free content, but creating said content is far from free.

I'm getting more sad about getting laid off. My work means so much to me. I'm a really good reporter. I've been getting scoops every single week lately, while also doing in-depth, award-winning reporting. I have good ideas! New email: [email protected] www.polygon.com/23776996/bar...

I'll say more later, but I no longer have a job. I'm looking for work, as are *so* many of my amazing colleagues. I have lots of ideas and things I'd like to write. I'm really in shock.

Jesus Christ, how are we expected to survive as an industry? My thoughts are with everyone affected. Genuinely, where do we go from here?

Really intrigued by the accessible designs for Borderlands 4. Here's hoping we learn more about them before launch or at the very least, here's hoping I get to speak with developers!

Not only is this really cool for young kids, but fantastic for disabled players, as well! Pretty neat!

Hi, @motherjones.com disabled disability reporter here, I really want to hear about how tariffs are impacting disabled, chronically ill, and aging folks. Reposts appreciated and my email is [email protected].

I'm a JOURNALIST

Do you need both sticks to move in Expedition 33 or can you just move the left stick for camera and movement?

Cool

Really hoping the Target DEI gods don't hate me and cancel my preorder

not to be too controversial but i think buying concert tickets and video game consoles shouldn’t be a fight to the death

I reviewed Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves for Digital Trends. It’s a great fighting game dragged down by the state of the world. This is the hardest review I've ever had to write. I hope you'll read it. I can't thank @marioprime.bsky.social enough for giving this a home.
