project 2025 is going well

for a while Musk really did seem like the most relatable billionaire. yeah, if i had that kind of money I'd want to go to space and make sports cars, etc. Turned out that was just PR, and what he really wanted out of life was to be seen as funny by teenaged Nazis on the Internet

I made a flowchart of how government currently works in the world's most powerful nation

Can't wait for the day Democrats stop trying to repeat the same shit about needing to focus on kitchen table issues

Exactly - if the panic of the day seems to rotate constantly in accordance with the needs of the Republican Party, then failing to respond to the panic of the day isn’t actually your problem. It’s the way the Republicans can set the agenda

The important thing you need to realize, if you're a Democrat or media person talking about Trump, is that he is trying to CHANGE a bunch of fundamental rules about how America works. He is trying to dramatically alter our system of government to one more like Russia or China.

Still wild to me that so many "savvy" folks on left and right have bought into the idea that online misinformation is overblown and doesn't really matter. From lies about migrants to transgender people to crime to election denial to climate denial, it's literally driving our country's politics.

The Democrats who are pretending like DOGE could ever be a legitimate exercise in government reform are playing a mug's game. This is a smash and grab, nothing more or less.

Politics is a popularity contest on who people think other people think is popular. And it seems that hardly anyone thinks other people think Democrats are popular.

I still get angry when I remember how Democrats simply refused to care or react when Musk took over Twitter, the world’s most important media outlet. Since then he’s used it to elevate Nazism, restore Trump’s image, banish liberals to the cultural hinterlands, and now commandeer the government.

Elon Musk: Doing to congress what he does to tesla drivers: trapping us inside and setting us on fire.

basically the more I think about it the more I think the problem with american politics is that we've built this vast media universe, from the mainstream down into the fever swamps, designed to coddle right-wing radicals and ensure they never encounter a notion that will hurt their feelings

for my next newsletter and episode i bought the bestselling laptop on Amazon to try and explain how shitty most people's exposure to tech is. Currently at 30 minutes of menus and updates. I have agreed to three privacy policies and created two new accounts. We live in hell

Eric Adams is amazing because when he won every media person was leaping over each to go “this is the normal sane leadership that the political left doesn’t understand normal sane Americans crave” and then every day since that Eric Adams has been like “Leprechauns are real and I’m going to cook one”

The most FAFO in history.

Waffle House 4ever.

This New York Times article about how serial killers are becoming more rare reads like a call-to-action to save an endangered species.

It's gotta be so demoralizing working for the New York Times. You spend days diligently re-reporting a week-old regionally published article you're pretending doesn't already exist only to open the op-ed section and see "Mongrel Sterilization Is in the Constitution" by Trevor M. Swastika.

I love Bluesky because my posts that would get no likes on twitter still get like 10 likes. also posts that would get thousands of likes on twitter get 10 likes. Bluesky's a good place to get 10 likes

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Nashville Democrat Justin Jones, a member of the ‘Tennessee Three,’ wins back Tennessee state House seat after expulsion.

Me and my best friend naming some baseball guys

kara swisher types tiptoed around this fact, but musk's goal in buying twitter was always to wage information war on journalists, academics, and the left
